This work is a full pro shot of the "September 19, 2015 ROCK IN RIO VI performance" held in Rio de Janeiro. It is a digital video broadcast live on the web, but the high tones that were severely distorted during the broadcast have been softened and packed into a DVD. METALLICA seems to be performing at all kinds of festivals, but should we say ROCK IN RIO at home? The huge venue and the large crowd of over 80,000 people are overwhelming, even among the many rock festivals! The performance is after dark as it is the final act, but the vast sea of people, where you don't know how many people there are, is projected with the latest digital super clear image quality, which is a masterpiece. Of course, it's not just the sea of people that is huge, but the stage that faces that sea is bigger than usual. With the spectacular lighting dancing around in that sense of scale, it is one of the most spectacular epic works among the many METALLICA videos. The vivid sound of the live broadcast is also special. The beautifully mixed balance and the cheers that sound like the swells of the ocean are amazing, but James Hetfield's voice and Kirk Hammett's solo that cut through it all are so direct that you'd think they were connected directly to the table. METALLICA's raw edge, which rushes forward with momentum even with a little disturbance, seems to be poured directly into your ears. The rawness is highlighted by the sound trouble in "Ride the Lightning". It's a basic trouble that is rare for a superstar like METALLICA, but the sound cuts out in the middle of the guitar solo. While playing happily, Kirk's expression is scary as he glares at the sudden sound cut and says, "Hey, what's up!?" Furthermore, near the end of the song, the sound of all the instruments finally cuts out. When the song ends, Kirk pulls himself together and plays a solo, but the live performance is interrupted to restore the sound. The empty stage is illuminated with dim blue lights, and an uneasy atmosphere envelops the large venue with tens of thousands of people. After a short break, James, who stood on the stage again to calm the chaotic venue, played the arpeggio of "The Unforgiven" ... After that, the show recovered safely with the sound, but the vivid atmosphere of "Will there be a riot if it ends like this?" and METALLICA's professionalism in dealing with it coolly are really worth seeing. Such a chilling moment also occurs in "The Frayed Ends of Sanity" in the middle of the show. The sound suddenly cuts off at the intro riff and the stage goes dark. However, at this time it immediately returns to normal, so it is hard to tell whether it is a problem or a production. The songs "The Frayed Ends of Sanity" and "...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL" are actually super rare songs that premiered in "May 2014" (the premiere can also be seen in "...AND JUSTICE FOR LIVES" released recently). At that time, they themselves liked it, and it has been played 12 times to date. I don't know if it will become a standard in the future, but it is a valuable professional shot. In addition, there are many highlights until the end, such as "Whiskey in the Jar" dedicated to Cliff Burton, who passed away on September 27th. After the show, all the members greet the sea of audience. Lars Ulrich announces that the tour will end on this day and that they will return to the studio for a new album. The beautiful quality unique to the latest digital pro shots, the super-large scale, the rare troubles, and the spirit to close the year... this is a worthwhile piece that goes beyond just the latest METALLICA. While various bands have appeared and disappeared, METALLICA continues to reign as king in 2015 as a giant. This is a piece that allows you to run alongside their heyday, which may never end, in real time. Cidade do Rock, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 19th September 2015 PRO-SHOT (141:04) 1.
