The best live in Japan by Kinney Master, released for the first time in the world, is now available! This work was recorded on “SO FAR SO GOOD... SO WHAT! JAPAN TOUR 1988”. This is the audience album for the first day, “July 12, 1988: Nakano Sunplaza Performance.” When you say “1988” and “Nakano Sunplaza”, “IN MY HOUR OF NEED” comes to mind, but it is a different recording from that masterpiece...not to mention a different live performance. Out of the 5 performances, 3 performances were held in Tokyo and all were held at "Nakano Sunplaza". “IN MY HOUR OF NEED” is the third performance in Japan, and this work is the first day. The biggest point of this work is the superb quality due to “Kinney Magic”. From “IN MY HOUR OF NEED”, it was a powerful sound that was close to line recording, but this work has a very thick feeling, but on top of that, the sound is detailed and beautiful. The word "beautiful" may not be appropriate for the explosive live performance of the thrash era, but it can't be helped because it actually has a beautiful sound. The famous Kinney sound is a bit different from "just like a sound board", but its creed is outstanding clarity. Although the venue had a subtle acoustic, the atmosphere was clear and each instrument was neatly separated. Unless the band's on-site PA is extremely loud, the result will be a very "beautiful" recording. That “Kinney style” is also carried through in this work (at a special level!). This encounter between “Kinney Sound” and “MEGADETH of 1988”...this is also an unusual match! To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for "Kinney & Slash". I was thinking, "That's a super clear roaring and explosive sound..." However! The clear atmosphere and exquisite sound of this work are just like the world of "SO FAR, SO GOOD... SO WHAT!"! It may be a bit late to talk about this, but "SO FAR, SO GOOD... SO WHAT!" is a unique piece among the many masterpieces by MEGADETH. The main reason for this was the delay-based sound. The sound of this work reproduces that world view. The subtleties of the performance are clear, each riff stimulates the nerves, and the clear atmosphere creates a dry and cool mood. Although there are German professional shots and Dutch soundboards on this tour, this work is by far the best in reproducing the cold “that world”. Of course, what is drawn with that cold sound is scorching intellectual thrash. For old fans, the attachment to the duo of "Chris Poland and Gal Samuelson" is special, but especially for the performance in Japan, this work of "Jeff Young and Chuck Bieler" wins the prize. . His performance ability, which allows him to play complex and delicate songs with great precision while driving at a furious pace, has evolved tremendously, considering it has only been a little over a year. Even each and every one of the sharp and rapidly changing riffs is showered with super clarity. It's worth hearing that the MC is in such a good mood... or rather, he's in an unusually good mood. When they first came to Japan, there was a feeling of not knowing when things would break out, but here it was the opposite and there was a dangerous atmosphere. The MC's tone during the show was strangely high-pitched. “Thank you so much! It’s our second time in Tokyo, we love you guys.” “We made our new record. He's Fuckin' mother fucker." l’)”@;E^−#$%&. . . Liar!!!” and so on. Dave Mustaine, who has a somewhat slurred speech and is in a super mood, is scary. However, such a "what did you do?" mood tightens as soon as each song starts, and the riffs are ticking away. Furthermore, the cheers that greeted Mustaine were also miraculous. This is also “Kinney Magic”, but although the intense excitement is recorded super realistically, the voices of the customers up close are not included. Although the roar of “oooooo!” that echoed through the venue was scorching, it was not at all jarring. Everything from a single riff to the MC's words to each individual's screams are recorded super clearly, yet it is not difficult to listen to at all. Everything from the picking noise that plays between songs to the roar that spreads through the venue is detailed and beautiful. To be honest, I thought that if you were listening to thrash metal, you'd be better off with a sound board that was directly connected to the D, or something that was a little louder. I had no idea that Kinney's beautiful audience and Slash were so compatible... Well, maybe it's because MEGADETH is so intellectual. An ensemble that doesn't fall apart even when the lyrics get questionable. Intense, dangerous, and high-altitude. This is a masterpiece of a live album filled with plenty of MEGADETH, which has an increased sense of punkishness and a sense of stability for some reason. Since then, they have visited Japan many times, and ``1988'' shows off their unique individuality even in their history.
