The release date of the new album "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!" has finally been decided, and MEGADETH's activities are finally in full swing. Here is a masterpiece live set that allows you to enjoy their latest stage. This work contains two performances. DISC 1 features a spectacular video of the "May 6, 2022 Nashville performance", and DISC 2 features a superb recording of the "May 10 Rochester performance". MEGADETH, who fired David Ellefson last year due to unforeseen circumstances, will be carrying out a coupling tour with LAMB OF GOD, "The Metal Tour Of The Year", in parallel with replacing the bass part of the new album "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!". The album is played by virtuoso Steve DiGiorgio, and the tour is played by former member James Lomenzo, but both are supported. The official successor bassist has not yet been announced. To review the recent situation, let's first look back at the schedule that has been announced so far. 2021 May 14: David Ellefson fired August 20-September 28: North America #1 (26 performances) *U.S. TOUR 2021 2022 April 9-May 20: North America #2 (27 performances) *Here June 3-July 2: Europe (15 performances) July 8: "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!" released August 19-October 15: North America #3 (32 performances) This is MEGADETH in 2021/2022. "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!" has already been completed, and the bass has been replaced. The release is scheduled for July, and until then, a coupling tour with LAMB OF GOD in the spring and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in the summer is planned. Of these, the two performances in this work are the second part of "The Metal Tour Of The Year" with LAMB OF GOD. It was the 7th and 10th concerts of "North America #2". [Super-experiential shots of the Nashville performance] The first to appear on DISC 1 is an audience shot of the 7th performance, "May 6th Nashville Performance". This is not just a spectacular view, but very unique. In one word, it is "super-experiential, special seat video". I think it's a bit too much to explain with just words, so I'll explain it. First of all, the position is very well-balanced. It seems to be around the center of the first floor arena, but if you face the front, the center of the stage will be right in front of you. This is not "near the middle". It's exactly in the middle as if measured with a ruler. If you face the "MEGADETH" logo on the back, the space between the two bass drums is directly in front. It's a very central position, as if the staff had been crushed, which is possible only because it's an all-standing venue that is not tied to seats. Moreover, it makes the most of that central position. I think they're using a tripod, but they don't move a single step from that position, and the viewpoint is high enough that they can look directly at the stage, passing over the heads of the front audience. What's more, they don't zoom. Usually, the more bold the zoom, the more of a masterpiece it seems, but that's not necessarily the case. This work beautifully captures everything from the right end to the left end, and completely captures everything on the stage. MEGADETH's latest stage makes extensive use of unique screen productions, and you can witness the footage of them without leaving anything out. And this viewpoint is the key to the "ultra-experiential" experience. It goes without saying, but the human eye has no zoom function. The ultra-high image quality of the latest digital equipment is a naked eye sensation, and the cold-hearted elimination of all zooms makes you think, "Ah, this is what it's like when you're actually watching it." You can fully enjoy that sensation in a special seat that seems to be a mixer desk. [The best live album from the Rochester performance] The next DISC 2 is the best audience recording of the 10th performance, "May 10th Rochester performance". In fact, the sound of the Nashville performance (DISC 1) was good enough to be made into a live album with just the audio, but we set up another performance because it would be better to have two performances anyway. And it's so good that it's worth the effort. The on-touch feeling and vivid details down to the smallest details are worthy of being called "like a sound board", but it's not just that, it's also beautiful. The slight hall sound gives the rugged sound a thickness and a glossy metallic luster. It's a beauty unique to the audience...or rather, it's a rich sound that will surprise you with how amazing the 2022 customer recording is. The latest concentrated greatest hits are depicted with such a vivid and gorgeous feeling. There are subtle changes from last year's masterpiece "U.S. TOUR 2021" mentioned above, so let's organize the set while comparing it. Classics (11 songs) Peace Sells: The Conjuring (★) / Peace Sells Last in Peace: Hangar 18 / Tornado Of Souls (DISC 1 only) / Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Countdown to Ruin: Sweating Bullets / Symphony Of Destruction Cryptic Writings: Trust / She-Wolf Others: Dread And The Fugitive Mind (★) / Angry Again (★) Dystopia (2 songs) Conquer Or Die! / Dystopia *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that could not be heard in the previous work "U.S. TOUR 2021". ...And so on. The expected new song has not yet been performed, and "The Threat Is Real" from "DYSTOPIA" has also been cut. Instead, classic hits such as "The Conjuring" and "Angry Again" have been revived, giving the album a stronger "live greatest hits" feel. Among them, a somewhat unexpected selection is "Dread and the Fugitive Mind". In fact, they had performed this song several times in 2020, but it was the first time it had been 19 years since it was last performed. "THE WORLD NEEDS A HERO" is a delicious song, especially since it was treated as a somewhat dark historical piece. And the performance that spells out this set is also wonderful. I knew that former member Lomenzo was solid, but commander Dave Mustaine was in pretty good form. As expected, the high notes in "The Conjuring" are tough, but the vocal slump that was once considered hopeless seems like a lie. The powerful and dense vocalization is a perfect fit for the heavier ensemble, and you can feel that the "second golden age" pioneered by "DYSTOPIA" is still continuing. Super-breathtaking footage specializing in "experience" and a full recording that can also be enjoyed as a live album. This is a two-disc set that allows you to experience the latest live performance in the finest quality. It is not just a cool metal live performance, but a masterpiece that will make you excited about the upcoming "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!". This audience two-disc set features a spectacular video of the "May 6, 2022 Nashville performance" on DISC 1 and a superb recording of the "May 10 Rochester performance" on DISC 2. Both are of the finest class, and the Nashville footage in particular is a rare individualist. The front is in the middle of the stage as if measured with a ruler, and the front is perfectly in front of the two bass drums. The sense of stability that seems to be due to the use of a tripod is also tremendous, and the visibility of zero obstructions that allows you to look directly at the stage over the heads of the audience is also the best. Furthermore, the camerawork that does not zoom at all is the same as the naked eye, and you can experience the latest stage that also uses a lot of screen production to the fullest.
