With the official re-joining of James Lomenzo, the new MEGADETH is now just waiting for the release of their new album, "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!" Their first professional shots will be released in two works at the same time! This is the second release this week. It is a multi-camera professional shot of their appearance at the famous metal festival "HELLFEST" held in Cresson (France) on June 18, 2022. They are currently touring Europe, mainly at summer festivals. We will leave the overview of their activities to the explanation in the simultaneously released "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022: LIVE WEBCAST", but here we will focus on the European tour and check the relationship between the sister works. 2022 European Tour June 3-15 (7 performances) June 17 "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022" June 18: HELLFEST appearance ←★This work★ June 20: Rotterdam performance >>Now here<< June 20-July 2 (5 performances) This is the European tour currently underway, and by the time this article is published, the 10th performance in Rotterdam will have ended. The two works released at the same time are the 8th and 9th performances, and are professional shots of famous European festivals that were performed over two days. In modern Europe, there are many summer metal festivals that represent each country. Speaking of "HELLFEST", it is a famous event that represents France along with "DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL", "SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL", and "ROCK AM RING". That's why it is also famous as a mass-produced festival of super-fine professional shots every time. This work is the MEGADETH edition. In fact, the quality of this work can only be called "fully official grade". In terms of sound, the simultaneously released "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022: LIVE WEBCAST" is not inferior in sound quality, but rather the taste of the mix. "HELLFEST" is heavy, or the heavy bass that hits your stomach is a powerful sound. In terms of pure audio, "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022" would be considered better sound, but the music is music, so this work, which is heavy, may be preferred (the contrast dynamism of the cymbals roaring from the heavy bass is very cool). Although the sound may divide tastes, the video and number of songs exceed the wall of taste. This is already an overwhelming victory of this work. First of all, the sense of camerawork is unusually good. Even close-ups of Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro capture the "moment of the picture" from a "picture-worthy angle". Especially the heroic appearance of going out to the front of the stage and confronting the large crowd... Since it is a live broadcast, the switching is supposed to be live, but it is decided as if it was pre-recorded and the highlights were re-edited. Of course, the shooting staff's sense is outstanding, but not only that, it may be that the goddess of video is smiling. Even more amazing is the screen. Despite appearing at a high time of day, just like "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022", the screen image is clearly visible in this work! I don't know the reason, but it is unlikely that MEGADETH improved anything in one day, and the environment and equipment on the festival side are probably superior. It is definitely worth watching. Even more decisive is the show itself. Summer festivals are usually shorter than concerts by default, but at "HELLFEST", they appeared as the second main stage after GHOST. Perhaps for that reason, the set is about 70 minutes longer than "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022". Let's organize it by comparison here. 80s/90s (9 songs) Peace Sells: The Conjuring/Peace Sells Last in Peace: Hangar 18/Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Countdown to Ruin: Sweating Bullets/Symphony Of Destruction Others: A Tout Le Monde/Angry Again/Trust Others (4 songs) The World Needs a Hero: Dread and the Fugitive Mind Dystopia: The Threat Is Real (★)/Conquer Or Die! (★)/Dystopia *Note: The "★" mark indicates songs that were not seen in the sister work "GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022: LIVE WEBCAST". ...And so on. As usual, they won't be playing the new songs from "THE SICK, THE DYING... AND THE DEAD!", but I'm happy to hear three songs from the Grammy album "DYSTOPIA". MEGADETH is currently in the "second golden age" following the 90s, and is by no means a nostalgic band. It's a show that reminds us of that fact once again (let me hear the new songs soon!). The first pro shot of the new MEGADETH, which was released at the same time as two other works. Both are must-sees, but if you want to start with one, this is the only one. The increased "DYSTOPIA" number, the highly aesthetic camera work, and the strangely clear screen image... a piece that is like a lump of worth seeing. A multi-camera pro shot of the "June 18, 2022 Cresson performance". The quality of the DVD made from the best master of the live broadcast is completely official, and the sense of camera work in particular is strangely good. Even the close-ups of Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro really capture the "moment of the picture" from the "angle that makes the picture". Despite being a festival, the set lasts about 70 minutes, and even though it's daytime, the screen image is clear and crisp, and it's a great sight. This is an absolute work that boasts outstanding quality even in the latest professional shots. Val de Moine, Clisson, France 18th June 2022 PRO-SHOT 1. Prince Of Darkness 2. Hangar 18 3.
