A treasure from the early days of thrash, on par with "METALLICA with Mustaine," is set to be released! This is full audience footage of "MEGADETH with Kerry King"!! On April 11, 1983, Dave Mustaine was kicked out of METALLICA, and he vowed to get revenge, forming MEGADETH. While searching for members, he continued writing songs, and made his stage debut the following year in 1984. From the first performance (February 17) to the fifth performance (April 18), it was Kerry King of SLAYER who played guitar next to Mustaine. At the time, Kelly was shocked and admired METALLICA in their semi-professional days. When MEGADETH started, he had already released "SHOW NO MERCY" as a member of SLAYER, but he volunteered to support them, thinking, "If it's a new band from that amazing guitarist (Mustaine)," This work contains the precious third performance of MEGADETH, "April 15th," which is also the oldest video of MEGADETH. The image quality has a strong vintage feel because it is a valuable historical video. You may be daunted by the first distant view, but from "Chosen Ones" onwards, close-ups are used frequently, and the sound quality becomes easier to hear. And the close-up shows a thorny left arm... that's Kelly King! All five performances of "MEGADETH with Kelly" have some kind of audience record, but this is the only video. Even though it's the second live performance, the set is already full of new songs. The majority of the songs are "KILLING IS MY BUSINESS...." and "PEACE SELLS...," which have not yet been recorded, and the only ones that can be said to be related to METALLICA are the opening SEs "Am I Evil?" and "The Mechanix." Even though the lyrics were tentative, they performed "SO FAR SO GOOD..." and "Burnt Offerings (Set The World Afire)", and the set list was like the best of early MEGADETH. And Mustaine, who is eager to start a new band (albeit with temporary members), is in top form. He shows off his brilliant tapping in the intro of "Last Rites/Loved to Deth", and in the instrumental "Quicksand" he shows off a sharp solo that surpasses the METALLICA era. In "Quicksand", Dave Ellefson, who casually synchronizes with Mustaine's fast passage, is also amazing. Even back then, it was said that "thrash metal can't be done poorly", but it's clear that they were an outstanding technical band from the beginning. The audience is also one of the highlights. They were hit with complex songs they had never heard before at a breakneck speed, but rather than being stunned, they were excited. Some of the audience shouted "Kerry King!!!", but most of them seemed to be Mustaine fans from METALLICA days, and they reacted to each song. Someone in the front row must have said something, but "The Mechanix" started with "I know, I know, I know", and when the band retreated, a chorus of "MEGADETH!!" calls broke out, and even some audience members shouted "Kirk Hammett Sucks!!". In the end, "MEGADETH with Kelly" only played five shows. After that, MEGADETH played five more shows with the trio Mustaine/Ellefson/Gar Samuelson, and in December 1984, Chris Poland joined. They became the figure we know well. Kelly himself said, "I just wanted to help from the beginning," but Tom Araya said, "Kelly's not that kind of guy. He must have thought, 'I'll make it (with MEGADETH) if I can." This work not only allows you to see the historic scene of "MEGADETH with Kelly", but also vacuum-packs the audience who are burning with "Defeat METALLICA!!". MEGADETH, supported by fans and SLAYER, began chasing METALLICA. A masterpiece video that shows the destiny of the three bands that repainted metal all over the world, a must-see for all metal fans!
