This video was recorded at “São Paulo MONSTERS OF ROCK performance on September 26, 1998”. The late 1990s was the most difficult period in heavy metal history. METALLICA released the controversial songs ``LOAD'' and ``RELOAD'' one after another, and even made Rob Halford, the god of steel, say, ``Metal is dead.'' During those times, Japan and South America were the linkages that connected the lifeblood of metal. MONSTERS OF ROCK was held in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, giving motivation and sustenance to bands who had lost the means to survive in Europe and America. That's why South American music at this time is full of great performances that bring back the spirit of ``We can still do it!''. Although it is a South American professional shot where various bands can listen to enthusiastic performances, most of them are air checks of local TV broadcasts, and it is also true that many of them are difficult in terms of quality in the current sense. However, this work is a valuable exception. The picture quality and sound are so clear that you might think, “This is South America in the 90s!?” Originally, we would have included the footage from “YOUTHANASIA JAPANESE TOUR 1995” as well as the main live album, but we chose this because of its extremely valuable quality. MEGADETH, which approaches with such quality, is still wonderful. Since Nick Menza was replaced by Jimmy DeGrasso, it is generally not considered to be in its prime, but Jimmy's drumming has not been abandoned either. It goes without saying that Nick, who is a “metal kid to the core”, is amazing at the front drums, but Jimmy, who has also done numerous sessions, is better than Nick in technique and stability, and has a rich groove. On top of that, Marty Friedman's crying ensemble makes you listen to the dynamism of METALLICA's Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett. The set list, which brings out such an ensemble, is also delicious. Unfortunately, this work is not a complete set, but except for "Wake Up Dead", it is selected from four works: "RUST IN PEACE", "COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION", "YOUTHANASIA", and "CRYPTIC WRITINGS", and it is a melodious song from the golden age. - Plenty of metal flavor. "Catch up with METALLICA! Overtake!" MEGADETH started. If you think about it, this was the last time that that spirit was present. After that, the gears went out of whack with Marty's departure, and even the ambition to "surpass METALLICA" disappeared somewhere after a series of wandering and returning to the roots. This is a masterpiece video that captures the sense of the times in a quality that even comes close to that of the official video.
