This is the first title for this lineup of the trio, consisting of McCoy, the last active piano virtuoso, Al Foster, and Avery Sharp. This two-disc set contains recordings of the early and late performances at Regatta Bar in Cambridge, Massachusetts in August 2001, recorded with superb high-quality audience recordings that are so realistic in atmosphere that you will feel as if they are performing right in front of you. It is also great that there are no overlapping songs in the set list between the early and late performances. There are plenty of highlights to listen to, such as the deep flavor of My Foolish Heart in the early performance, the gorgeous fingering of Lazy Bird in the late performance, and the well-coordinated trio performance of In a Mellow Tone.
