Michael Schenker in 1988, who returned to Japan as the new McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP with Robin McCauley as his new partner. The original recording that will be released worldwide for the first time is now available. This work is engraved with the performance of "February 16, 1988: Nippon Budokan". It is a superb audience recording. Speaking of the Budokan in the McCauley era, there was also the famous Kinney masterpiece "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT", but of course this work is a different performance. Now, let's check each position in the schedule at that time.・February 5th: Sapporo Welfare Pension Hall・February 8th + 9th: Osaka Festival Hall・February 11th: Nagoya City Public Hall・February 13th: Kyoto Moriyama Civic Hall・February 14th: Shizuoka Civic Cultural Hall・February 15th "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT"・February 16th: Nippon Budokan ←★This work★・February 18th: Fukuoka Sunpalace・February 19th: Kurashiki Civic Hall・February 21st: Nagoya City Public Hall・February 22nd: Kyoto Hall A total of 12 performances. They traveled across the archipelago from Sapporo in the north to Fukuoka in the south, and the number of performances was tied with the "BUILT TO DESTROY Tour" in Japan in January 1984. It was a Japan tour that showed their immense popularity. Among them, the highlight was the two-day performance at Nippon Budokan. There were two performances, the Kinney recording "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT" and this work. I have introduced this show as "BUDOKAN 1988 2ND NIGHT", but this work is completely different. It is not a different mastering or a different generation, but a newly excavated recording recorded by a completely unrelated person. And the biggest difference is the sound. This is already a superb audience with "super". It is a work that makes you want to line it up with "super super super ...". After all, it was a super big name in the Japanese recording world who recorded this work. It is a work of a famous recording artist who left a large number of historical super famous recordings, such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Stones Paul McCartney, etc., mainly in the 1980s. This master's work is sometimes described as "more than the prestigious Kinney", but it actually exceeds Kinney's previous work "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT". And it's light! Even if I listen to it again now, I think that "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT" is a masterpiece that combines freshness and clarity, but it still cannot compete with this work. The on- and powerful core, the fine and vivid details, the sweet and lustrous sound, everything is far superior. There is no mistake in the sound board in terms of tone, but in terms of specifications, it is not inferior to FM broadcasting. In the Macquarie era, there was no official live album (electric) left, so an "official substitute" was sought, and this work is the answer. Moreover, it is a new answer that greatly updates the conventional standards. Such a superb sound depicts a full show full of the brilliance of the 1980s, when "melodic = justice". Although the set itself is the same as "BUDOKAN 1988 2ND NIGHT", the opportunity to look back on the Macquarie era is valuable, so let's organize it again. Perfect Timing (6 songs) Get Out / Gimme Your Love / Love Is Not A Game / Follow The Night / No Time For Losers / Rock 'Til You're Crazy Classics (8 songs) God: Armed And Ready / Cry For The Nations / Into The Arena / Lost Horizons Others: On And On / Courvoisier Concerto / Doctor Doctor / Rock Bottom ... and so on. The classics revived by Robin's singing voice are wonderful, and the new songs on "PERFECT TIMING" that are surprisingly (sorry!) live are also delicious. First of all, the classics, but I was fascinated by his husky yet expansive singing voice. I didn't know that the repertoire at the time was particularly difficult, but his performance at the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST revealed that he was actually the No. 1 singer of all time. Listening to it again with that in mind, the voice quality and the gradual emotion that Michael likes are superb, and he writes his early masterpieces with a sadness that is typical of an Irishman. In particular, "On And On" is performed with such ease (without any unnecessary thrills: wry smile), that the original emotion of the melody seeps into your heart. And "PERFECT TIMING" is also wonderful. At the time, every time I listened to the studio works, I thought, "I want more V to cry!", but somehow, the live performances are full of crying phrases. If the dynamism of "Get Out" and the sadness of "Love Is Not A Game" were included in the recent albums, they would definitely be representative songs, and the wonderfulness of "Follow The Night", where Robin and Michael's melody senses are combined, is timeless. Looking back, McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP was full of beautiful melodies and tears. And Robin McAuley's skill, which I didn't notice because he didn't sing in a showy way. It is an amazing new excavation recording that shows their true value, which can only be understood now (and because it is a live album that is not distracted by their actions and hairstyles). A superb audience recording of the "February 16, 1988: Nippon Budokan" performance. A newly excavated recording by the legendary master Taper, the sound is so amazing that it easily surpasses even the prestigious Kinney masterpiece "BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT". Everything is superb, from the on-time, powerful core, to the fine and vivid details, to the sweet and lustrous sound. This is an amazing new masterpiece that will be a "official substitute" for McSG, who does not have an official live album (electric).
