A famous recording representing the period immediately after the formation of McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP is reprinted as a coupling. M.S.G. ceased its activities after “SUPER ROCK ’84”, which is a memorable song for Japanese people. After that, it was in the summer of 1986 that they restarted with a new partner, Robin McCauley. While pitching to record companies, they performed warm-up shows as a band across Europe. They made their stage debut in Ireland and Hungary, and appeared in the German version of "MONSTERS OF ROCK FESTIVAL" with SCORPIONS. This work is a two-disc audience album that couples the German version of MOR2 performances “August 30, 1986 Nuremberg” and “Next August 31st Mannheim”. First of all, Disc 1 is “August 30, 1986 Nuremberg Performance”. This is a sound source that we have previously introduced as a gift album, but this time we have revived it with the latest remaster, aiming to reproduce it with the final specifications. When you play it, you will be surprised that Robin's opening MC is a little over-peaked, but as soon as "Armed And Ready" starts, the volume will be adjusted quickly and the sound will be wonderful. After that, you can enjoy the umami of the outdoors with ``zero reverberation'', and you can enjoy the rich core of the musical tone. The reaction from the audience was good and it was very exciting, but since it was outdoors, there was no chance of being surrounded by loud cheers. Although the close applause of the audience conveys the feeling of being there, there is nothing to interrupt the performance. The live performance depicted with such a sound is a passionate performance unique to a band on the verge of formation. Robin also sings carefully and with great enthusiasm on what is (probably) her first big stage performance. It's a little different from his later studio work and live performances, and his husky singing voice makes me wonder if he has a cold, but he seems energetic and carefree. Maybe this is what my voice sounded like when I was younger. Of course, Michael is Michael. It's been a while since they stopped their activities in 1984, and they are fully motivated to get their new band off the ground. You can hear the lively and sweet tone to the fullest, making it different from "SUPER ROCK '84", which was full of injuries. The most important point is the setlist, which is the foundation of a passionate performance. Since they were just formed, they are playing a lot of old M.S.G.'s famous songs. This week, the masterpiece “BUDOKAN 1988 1ST NIGHT” of the Japanese performance will also be released, but he will perform “Rock My Nights Away” and “I’m Gonna Make You Mine” that can not be heard there. It's a song from the "BUILT TO DESTROY" era, which was more pop-oriented among the old M.S.G., but that's why it's a perfect fit for Robin. The balance between catchy melodies and tearful guitars will tell you more clearly than a hundred words why these two teamed up. Furthermore, the unreleased song "Here I Am" (!) and the early version of "Here Today - Gone Tomorrow" are also delicious. “Here Today - Gone Tomorrow” has a much harder guitar singing than the later studio version, and “Here I Am” is amazing! Although it has remained unreleased to this day, it is full of hard-driving and deadly crying melodies. Perhaps it was removed because it did not match the pop color of "PERFECT TIMING" and was forgotten, but it is close to the old M.S.G. section and is not at the level of a "discontinued song only for live performances". Both are wonderful versions with a “continuation of BUILT TO DESTROY” feeling. The following Disc 2 is the “August 31, 1986 Mannheim” performance the next day. This is also a reprint of the master introduced in "SEQUENCE OF EVENTS". This is a masterpiece recording where you can fully enjoy the clear sound at its peak from the beginning. Although the basic characteristics and the band's performance are very similar to Disc 1, there are no new songs. “Rock My Nights Away” is the only delicious song that I couldn’t hear during the Japanese performance. So, if you ask me, is there no meaning? Here you can experience unexpected trouble scenes. The problem occurs after "Cry For The Nations" ends. ``Next up is our new song, Here Today - Gone Tomorrow!'' he loudly proclaims, but the equipment goes crazy and no sound comes out. Robin continues as MC for about 13 minutes while the atmosphere is full of excitement. I thought Robin, who had only experienced GRAND PRIX up until then, would be in trouble on the big stage of MONSTERS OF ROCK (even though it was the German version), but she was quite brave on stage as she teased and joked. No matter how long he waited, he still didn't recover, but for some reason the audience started chanting "U.S.A.!" and burst out laughing, "God damn, yankees!!" However, Robin and the audience are in a tired mood due to the long blank that such leeway is exhausted, but it also feels like a document. Once the equipment was restored, they started playing "Courvoisier Concert," but the synths were still going crazy and ruined the atmosphere. You can enjoy a live performance that somehow gets a bit dull around the time you enter "Lost Horizons" (Robin's voice is also a bit dry, and it sounds more painful than Disc 1). Disc 1 lets you listen to plenty of delicious masterpieces and unreleased songs that were made right after the group was formed, and Disc 2 is also a fun documentary about people struggling with unexpected troubles. This is a live set where you can enjoy both with extremely clear sound. To be honest, there are some scenes where I get too enthusiastic and don't get the hang of it, but that's also typical of the very early stages.
