The latest live album of "MARTIN TURNER'S WISHBONE ASH", now "MARTIN TURNER EX WISHBONE ASH" has arrived. This work is an audience album that captures the "West London performance on January 2, 2016" at the beginning of the new year. Martin Turner has been active as "MARTIN'S WISHBONE ASH" since 2005, but as a result of the lawsuit with Andy Powell, he was no longer able to use the name in 2014, and now he is performing live under the titles "MARTIN TURNER PLAYS THE MUSIC OF WISHBONE ASH" and "MARTIN TURNER EX WISHBONE ASH". Martin was scheduled to come to Japan in September 2015 as a coupling with CARAVAN, but unfortunately it was postponed. "If the performance in Japan had been realized, what kind of live would it have been..." This work is a live album that answers such a feeling. This work was recorded by a recording artist living in the UK. Master Taper is well acquainted with the live spaces around London and always provides the latest live performances from the UK. His collection is always very popular, and the diverse lineup is... I usually list the works of master Taper in a row, but for those who have noticed this work, there is only one I would like to mention. Yes, it is WISHBONE ASH's "MILTON KEYNES 2015", which was released last October and received great acclaim. This live album was a masterpiece that conveyed the "now of Andy Powell", who inherited the traditional signboard, with a wonderful British sound, but this work is "now of Martin Turner" by the same recordist. In fact, the sound of this work is as wonderful as Andy's "MILTON KEYNES 2015". Apparently, the "TROPIC AT RUISLIP" venue is more of a "social club" with a lounge, bar and dance floor than a live space, and is usually used for parties for soccer teams and club members. This work is also full of that personal mood. The taper is characterized by the warmth of DAT recording, but in this work, the clarity stands out more than ever, and the musical sounds that resonate in a narrow and homely space are full of the closeness that makes you want to say "like a sound board" or "like a studio session". And yet, the venue echo that is wrapped around you to the extent that you don't notice it when you listen to it casually dresses up the beauty of the tone. Andy's "MILTON KEYNES 2015" was also wonderful, but this work is also completely ideal and has a British sound. Not only is it a work by the same recorder, but the live performance makes you want to compare it with Andy's WISHBONE ASH. Of the 17 songs, six overlap with Andy's "MILTON KEYNES 2015," and of course they are all familiar from "LIVE DATES." The non-overlapping songs are also full of the deliciousness of early and mid-period ASH, such as "Sometime World," "Doctor," "Living Proof," and "You See Red." Andy chose "Persephone" from "THERE'S THE RUB," while Martin chose "Lady Jay" and "FUBB." Until now, Martin has only been tasting the recipes of classic songs with old songs, and his position was fundamentally different from Andy's current progress. However, this time is different. He is performing five new songs from the completely new album "WRITTEN IN THE STARS," which was just released in 2015. Moreover, "WRITTEN IN THE STARS" has been very well received, with people saying that "the 70's sound has been revived." Even in this album, it doesn't feel out of place among the classic songs of the past, and together they build the sound world of WISHBONE ASH. Martin Turner has finally joined forces with Andy Powell, releasing a new work that continues the music of WISHBONE ASH. It's been 20 years since the two of them parted ways. We may have to give up on the sight of them standing side by side, but we can see their current progress side by side. We would like those who were looking forward to Martin's performance in Japan, as well as those who were moved by WISHBONE ASH's "MILTON KEYNES 2015", to experience "the other person's current state" through the collection of the same recording artist. This is also a luxury and pleasure that is possible only because it is an underground album and recorded in the audience. Of course, this is the most British live album by the originator who created the most British band in this work alone. For those who love the "scent of Britain".
