May 17, 1973, New York, Albany performance, May 19th, the last day of the North American first leg, Connecticut, recorded the performance in Waterbury with stereo sound board recording. On both days, you can fully enjoy the menacing performance of the five people with the finest sound. At this time of year, the endless tour that had been going on since the fall of January 1972 has come to a halt (Is this the limit for the overcrowded schedule?), but on May 2nd, Santana's album "Welcome" (November 1973) was released. Flame, co-written by Santana and McLaughlin, included in the release) McLaughlin participated in the recording for Sky, and Cobham recorded his first album ``Spectrum'' at New York's Electric Lady Studio for three days on the 14th, 15th, and 16th (of course, Jan Hammer also participated), and recorded songs other than Mahavishnu. each member's Projects and solo activities are becoming more prominent (from McLaughlin's point of view, are they starting to get tired of this lineup?), and perhaps the band's unifying force has begun to decline, as Mahavishnu will be performing at Trident Studios in London from June 25th to 29th. The 3rd album produced (in 1999, “The Released as "Lost Trident Sessions") has been shelved. Of course, during this time, live performances were held in Stuttgart on the 7th, Frankfurt on the 8th, and Paris on the 10th and 13th. As for the ensemble, it is starting to show some dispersion, but on the contrary, the many wild interplays of each member create a special sense of tension, and in addition to the usual technical things, there is also a frightening amount of awesomeness (water A must-listen to Barry's performance, Vital Transformation!), making it a superb ensemble. You Know You Know (unfortunately, it fades out at 2:53), etc., has an overwhelming expressive power with wonderful intonation (McLaughlin's beautiful arpeggio, Cobham's cymbal work, Hammer's excellent Obrigado) is as wonderful as ever, and you'll definitely be overwhelmed by the number of ultra plays that can be said to be the ultimate in improvisation! What's interesting about this period is that the sound pressure of the band becomes thinner in places as each band goes too fast. A super item that luxuriously packages the most exciting period in the history of the first Mahavishnu with the highest quality sound with an outstanding sense of realism! It can be said to be a valuable release that fans cannot resist!
