In 1975 after the release of "Visions Of The Emerald Beyond", from the joint tour with Jeff Beck, the Reunion Arena performance in Dallas on June 11th was recorded from a high quality audience master that was good at that time. First of all, the guitarist that Jeff most admired during this period was John McLaughlin, and on the tour that was realized due to his strong request, it became a hot topic that the two performed together on each other's stages. And here, Mahavishnu, with Narada Michael Walden at the core, shows off a wonderfully grooving ensemble, which is in the transition period from the second period to the third period, and is different from the familiar ensemble in the first period. Something quite far apart. Incidentally, the members also have wind instruments that differ from their original style, including Steve Kindler (formerly of the Jan Hammer Group), Carol Scheib (participated in numerous sessions with Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, etc.), and Norma Jean. Bell (participated in Tommy Bolin and Frank Zappa's bands, as well as the P-Funk All Stars), and Premick Russell Tubbs (participated in recordings by Santana and Whitney Houston), this period Showcasing a unique sound. Also, this was right after Gail Moran left, and RTF was a big band that featured horns, so some bands were influenced by that at the time, and the era changed from crossover to fusion. The name changed, and it seems that McLaughlin himself was going through trial and error. Still, it's mostly played out in one chord, with the most exquisite interplay of You Know, You Know, Vision Is A Naked Sword from "Apocalypse", Eternity's Breath from "Visions Of The Emerald Beyond", etc. While picking it up, the biggest highlight is the co-starring appearance of Jeff Beck in the second half. Even though Beck hasn't released "Wired" yet, there's already a jam that features phrases from Led Boots, and even Diamond Dust, making this a must-listen for fans of both. DISC 1 : 1.
