This 68-minute recording captures the April 19th San Diego performance, which took place after the breakout success of 1985's "Like a Virgin" and marks the start of his first solo North American tour. It was taken from the original audience master recording owned by Marco Mohr, a legendary California taper active from the mid-'80s to early '90s, roughly the same time as Mike Millard. Until recently, these recordings had never been traded, but were recently made public by a renowned collector, bringing these precious live performances back to life on high-quality recording tape. There is also an official video from this tour, "LIVE: THE VIRGIN TOUR," but it was edited and incomplete as it was an official work. This DVD contains almost the entire show, and in addition to six songs from the album, it also features numbers from their debut album and soundtrack, "Vision Quest." Also, songs like "Angel," "Borderline," and "Burning Up" are not included in the official video, so fans should definitely check them out.
