On August 11, 1984, the first day of the "Super Rock '84" Seibu Baseball Stadium performance, the Scorpions, Michael Schenker Group, and Whitesnake, who closed the day, were all recorded in a complete set of the best audience recordings from the original master cassettes that would astound any enthusiast. First of all, the sound of the Scorpions is a little distant at the beginning, but it stabilizes around the second song. It is clear that they were recorded with a high-level microphone, and the sound is thick and effective with a strong bass, making it a great listen. The overall cohesive performance is the best of the bands that day, and this is the best live performance with a great groove. And MSG is recorded in full for 70 minutes with stable and wonderful high sound quality. The wonderful sound quality of Captain Nemo, which started with Ray Kennedy's screaming MC and reverberated through the stadium while it was still light out, gave me goosebumps. However, Ray's hockey style did not suit MSG at all, and it was quite a mess, which shocked the fans at the venue. However, Michael's playing is incredibly accurate and wonderful in every song, and Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker jump in on the last song, Doctor Doctor. And the final song, Whitesnake, is the longest recording at about 76 minutes. This performance is familiar from the official video, and the live performance of the day is reproduced here with a vivid audience recording. Anyway, Neil & Cozy's playing is the best, and the vocals are recorded clearly from start to finish. From Love Ain't No Stranger, the overall balance from the PA is also good, and the drum-only part of Ready An' Willing is particularly powerful at around 3 minutes. And in Crying In The Rain, the band performs a united performance from Sykes' wonderful intro to the latter half of the song. The excitement and roar of the audience at the introduction of Cozy's drum solo is too real. There is a tape change after the drum solo, but there are almost no problems, and it is more vivid than the video, and Sykes' flowing high-speed solo in the final encore, Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues, is also a highlight. A great title for a documentary about the greatest live event in the history of Japanese hard rock, bringing back the emotions of that day.
