Following the famous performance Vienna that we released last week, we will release the 1973 ZEP live sound source. However, this time we will release a great performance and a great sound source from the American tour. The white arrow took off at Seattle's Center Coliseum performance on July 17th. Yes, speaking of Seattle in 1973, it is a famous sound source that you probably know even if you are not a fanatic and have listened to ZEP's live sound source to some extent. After all, in the LP era, the masterpiece "V1/2 PERFORMED LIVE IN SEATTLE" conveyed the wonders of the 1973 American tour much earlier than the official version. It was one of the three crows released by the now legendary label TMOQ, along with "BONZO'S BIRTHDAY PARTY" and "THREE DAYS AFTER." Nowadays, we feel that the limitations of LP items are felt in that none of the titles were able to record a complete live performance, but the former was an audience recording of the most average quality, and the sound quality was better than that in stereo quality. However, due to problems with the recording tape, only the second half of the live performance was recorded, and unlike the latter, which included Blueberry Hill sound sources, many enthusiasts must have listened to the stereo recording with a very clear and clear sound image. . Moreover, unlike those two titles, it was the only one that recorded the first half of the live performance starting with "Rock And Roll", which was a blessing in that it realistically conveyed the atmosphere of the actual American tour. Let's review how Seattle's sound sources have been released since then. Conversely, those three were the only ones released during the on-time period of the 1973 tour, and they conveyed the details of the tour for several years until the official "THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME" appeared. He was also a valuable asset. Moreover, when the era of CDs arrived, a soundboard recording from the same day was discovered again under the name of "V1/2", shocking maniacs all over the world. After all, the Seattle concert that I had been accustomed to listening to with audience recordings was suddenly promoted to the clearness of the sound board. Although this sound source was also incompletely recorded, the fact that it was recorded in the order of live performances, unlike the LP era, was also a big attraction. However, neither of them can reach the complete recording of the concert. The second audience recording was discovered like a savior in this situation. The sound image was not as strong as TMOQ's first source, and there was an additional difference in monaural sound quality, but it was still in the high quality category as an audience recording of the 1973 tour, and above all, it was better than the previous two sound sources. It had great significance in that it finally revealed the whole story of the famous Seattle performance by firmly capturing the second half of the live performance that was not heard. On the contrary, I was surprised that they even recorded the announcements made before the members of ZEP appeared. As expected, the value of recording the entire concert is high, and releases such as IQ label's "SEATTLE DAZE" and ANTRABATA's "GRANDILOQUENCE" will lead to the creation of many titles. However, all of them had problems such as pitch errors, unnecessary defects because they were based on out-of-gen cassettes, and equalization. In the meantime, hybrid items that combine this sound source and soundboard have become the mainstream of the new century, and the release of the second source alone has been delayed. What added to this was the discovery of the first source master by JEMS, which was realized several years ago. When the full story of this sound source was revealed, it became clear that the concert had not been completely recorded, but it had a great advantage as a master of the ancient TMOQ source, and it surprised enthusiasts all over the world. That's what I was told. Moreover, the GRAF ZEPPELIN version “V1/2” based on this sound source and sound board was recently released, and it seems that it is still fresh in the memory that it was popular among enthusiasts. This time, the second source was left behind due to these changes in the situation. Although it was popular for a while, the items included in it have become rare due to the reasons mentioned above. In addition, even though JEMS distributed the master to this sound source at the same time as the first source, it was completely overshadowed by the appearance of the second source master. Surprisingly, this year, an item appeared for the first time in a while with "PERFORMED LIVE IN SEATTLE" which recorded the second source of the JEMS version from the EAT A PEACH label, but it was not equalized as is common with GODFATHER-type labels. Unfortunately, the quality of the original sound is lost. I don't want a finish that amplifies hiss and gives off an overall feeling of unbalanced equalization. Therefore, this time, our store will release an item that takes advantage of the goodness of JEMS Master itself. Upon release, we thoroughly brushed up problems such as missing parts and pitch adjustment without applying equalization. First of all, in the gap between the announcement before the performance and the appearance of ZEP, the sound board was patched with a completely monaural sound source. Furthermore, regarding the biggest shortcoming of the second source, which was missing for a while from the end of "No Quarter", instead of just making up for it from the first source like in the past "COMPLETE SEATTLE", this time we converted it to monaural and patched it. Therefore, it can be said that the highlight is the natural and easy-to-listen finish that instantly reduces the sense of discomfort. The finishing touch is that even the pitch, which had dropped in the second half of the live performance, was properly adjusted. Above all, the sound quality is very natural. For enthusiasts who have been listening to Second Source up until now, we promise that this is the definitive version! And above all, the splendor of this day's concert lies in the outstanding performance of the plant. Originally, the second leg of the American tour was a time when his voice was in poor condition, as represented by Chicago on the first day. Even in Buffalo on the 15th, which was the concert before Seattle, it showed a remarkable recovery compared to Chicago, but it was still clearly unsatisfactory compared to this Seattle. However, perhaps because there was a day of travel between performances, the sharpness of Plant's voice here in Seattle was noticeably different from the opening. Plant, who was clearly riding a strong wave, reached his peak from "Misty Mountain Hop" to "Since I've Been Loving You", and continued to show off his wonderful singing voice on "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love". Thanks to his efforts, this day became part of the ZEP Seattle legend, which continued to produce great performances just like the LA Forum. However, in the encore "The Ocean" (which also eliminates the muffled sound that occurs from the middle of the performance), there is a hint of fatigue, which foretells that Plant will fall into trouble again the next day. there is. Yes, it is well known that the next day's concert in Vancouver had to be shortened due to his sore throat. The definitive item, the only sound source that allows you to listen to the entire concert from a single source, is finally here! Live at Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, WA.
