THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME JRK REMIX, which is highly regarded among Zep enthusiasts as one of the best JRK REMIXes, is finally here! Remixed and remastered using three masters (2018 Remaster Blu-ray Audio 5.1 Surround Track Remix, 1976 Original Soundtrack, DVD MSG 1973 5.1 Surround Track Remix)! The live album has been reborn with amazing sound quality! I want you to listen to the familiar 1973 New York MSG performance again. JRK Notes "Eternal Poem" There is no need to introduce it again to Zep fans. Personally, both the movie "The Song Remains The Same" and the soundtrack album are precious to me. It was a movie and album I loved since I was young, and it was also the album where I first heard Led Zeppelin's amazing live sound source. I always think that this album should be treated more carefully because it can be restored with all the music that was cut from the movie to synchronize the images. For example, I can't stand the worst cuts of "Black Dog" or "No Quarter" on the album. This project has been on my mind ever since I did some preliminary research a few years ago. With the recent spate of Jimmy Page remasters of the Zeppelin catalog, I thought it was finally time to tackle it. There are three sources. First, the base that forms the biggest part of this reconstruction is the remix from the 5.1 surround track of the new Blu-ray Audio release. I felt that the sound was clearer and the instrument separation was better than the other formats of the latest remasters. Second, the original soundtrack that I ripped from a CD that I have. Finally, the third is the remix from the 5.1 surround track that is included on the Led Zeppelin DVD. Here I will explain in detail, in chronological order, the edits I made and how this project came together. - Remix of the 2018 Blu-ray audio and the Led Zeppelin DVD MSG 1973 Fragment 5.1 Surround track- Remastered the appropriate sections of the Original Soundtrack CD to match the 2018 remaster- Restored missing sections of "Black Dog" from the 2018 remaster with the appropriate sections from the Led Zeppelin DVD- Restored the slow build-up section and start of the solo in "No Quarter" from the Original Soundtrack CD- Added crowd noise to the end of "Rain Song" and extended the fade-out to finish off the first disc- Replaced "Moby Dick" in its entirety with the Original Soundtrack version due to excessive effects in the 2018 remaster- Restored the "The Crunge" section of "Whole Lotta Love" from the Original Soundtrack CD- Moved "The Ocean" to the correct position in the setlist to close the show- Mixed the ending crowd cheers and Plant's final comments into the correct position after "The Ocean". This is the live album we deserve. The new remaster restores the best of the original recordings, and it's here in stunning quality. Finally, a complete live document. And as always... turn it up loud and enjoy! Rock On!
