This title is a comprehensive recording of multiple versions of the Vancouver performance, using mega rare vintage analog discs that have been digitized directly from the original, and mainly using remastered versions, as well as audience recordings that have been distributed in recent years. The 1970 Vancouver performance included the minimum necessary versions of Pb in consideration of various aspects at the present time, recorded on 3 CDs (and the price was fixed for 1 CD!) The definitive edition! The original "Pb" LP (Matrix SS-19446-1~2 / PB 1/2 /Side 1/2 ← There's not much information on this itself) has a dark brown jacket with a rich texture stamped with "Pb" It's very simple and simple, like one of the earliest analog records, but it's mysterious and has a great impact! The record label is a custom yellow label with black letters that seems to have been designed for this LP (the label image is also shown on the jacket). The actual "Pb" is an extremely rare record that rarely circulates, and it is unlikely that it will be reissued from the original stamper (however, there are versions with different groove sizes), so most fans TMOQ's "MUDSLIDE" (LZ 112. In recent years, it has become clear that TMOQ's 100 series are copies) or reissues. I think this situation (copies outnumbering the originals) is a bit similar to the Beatles' first LP, "KUM BACK" (mono red stamps surpassing stereo blue stamps). Masu. However, it is only in recent years that the relationship between Pb and MUDSLIDE (MUDSLIDE is a copy of Pb) has become clear. There seems to have been almost no mention of the difference (or relationship) between the sound of the original Pb and MUDSLIDE, so I'll briefly touch on it here.First of all, Pb is a stereo line, and in general In contrast to stereo, which has a rough impression with reverberations coming from both sides, MUDSLIDE is a completely monaural line, and the difference is obvious at first listen. While the Pb sound has a stereo sound that feels out of phase and has a somewhat floaty impression, MUDSLIDE is completely monaural and the performance is localized in the center, so it is clean and refreshing. It's true that it sounds like this, but Pb's sound is clearly superior, especially the drum pounding from Robert's intro to "Everybody feel alright?" Da-dan-da-dan...! In this area, the cutting level of Pb is truly extraordinary, and the difference in power is clearly huge. Compared to that, MUDSLIDE's sound is quite quiet and compact. . As for the difference in sound quality between the two, I've already said that there's a winner at the time of this intro. In terms of recorded content, both Pb and MUDSLIDE are recorded in a different order of songs from the actual live performance, but there is a big difference in how the A side of the record ends. Pb has been recorded longer here, and the performance of the third song, What Is And-, is amazing! After the end with the drums, the Pb recorded about 5 seconds of the afterglow of the performance and cheers, while MUDSLIDE's Dala Dan! Immediately after the final drum sounds, side A ends abruptly, and the reverberations and cheers of the performance that were recorded on Pb are not recorded on MUDSLIDE, and the performance is barely cut out. . This may be the most obvious difference between Pb and MUDSLIDE. That's why, putting aside copies and such, there is only a live performance that became famous (?) due to the achievements (?) of the TMOQ edition, and this Vancouver performance has been released since the dawn of collector CDs. In addition to NZCD's Classics Off The Air Volume One (only 4 songs included), the earliest representative release of all songs (7 songs included) is probably MUDSLIDE (CD 6 - 808) released by American Flying Disc. However, this CD may not be well known, but contrary to its title, the contents were actually copied from the LP "Pb" rather than the LP "MUDSLIDE". It's instantly recognizable when you hear its distinctive stereo sound and the ending of What Is And- mentioned earlier. However, this is something we can understand now that we have the materials and information available. . . By the way, the Flying Disc version was good up to the point where it was copied from Pb, but even the scratch noise was treated with strange reverb echo processing, resulting in an obviously unnatural and disappointing sound. In the mid-1990s, releases from multiple labels such as Old Tara, TDOLZ, and LSD became mainstream, but the sound was clearly not as good as the original Pb. When I listened to it again, I found out that the 5th Gen sound source with these "tape transcriptions" is currently circulating on the internet, but when I listened to it calmly, I found that it was actually Pb. I'm starting to think that the tape is a copy of an LP with intense noise reduction and dubbing (authenticity unknown). In addition, in recent years, items have appeared that use tape versions with inferior sound and are rearranged in the order of actual live performance, and sound sources that have been digitized from Pb with a touch of ripping from the original have also appeared on the Internet. A press version was also released, and even though the sound quality was poor and the audience recording was short, it also appeared on the internet for the first time. This time, while taking into consideration the characteristics of these previously released items, in order to summarize the March 21, 1970 Vancouver, Canada performance as much as possible, the items will be recorded in multiple versions on 3 CDs. The first disc includes remastered recordings of the Pb original and audience recordings that have appeared on the internet in recent years. As mentioned earlier, Pb is recorded not from the internet but from the extremely rare actual item. In addition to applying pinpoint noise reduction, we also corrected the parts where the volume drops after the middle of Whole Lotta Love and We're Gonna Groove, which were low in volume on the original, so that they did not feel strange, and also adjusted the overall volume. I made it easier to hear. In recent years, the Pb ripped version that has been posted on the internet has a flashy sound that is quite over the top, but on this version, even though it is a remaster, the volume has been adjusted to a level that does not go overboard. The audience recording recorded in the second half is the one that first appeared on the internet, and is used. Since it was a monaural recording, the sound image localization, which was originally abnormally biased, was corrected. Furthermore, the pitch was corrected appropriately, but since the sound source originally had noticeable bounce-like distortion, we corrected the sound distortion in about 15 places especially in Dazzle so that it did not feel strange, so in that respect as well. It's a little easier to hear than this. The recording time is just over 31 minutes, and like Pb, it is far from the full live performance, and there are some performances that overlap with Pb, and the first live appearance is only the intro of I Can't Quit You Baby, Dazzling and Heartbreaker, but the live intro It is noteworthy that it is recorded longer than the Pb (although there is a cut in the middle), and it reveals the trick of editing the intro part of the Pb. The first half of the second disc is a remastered version of the Pb original in rearranged song order. This is a method that has been used in the past for the HOUSE OF ELROND and SUGAR MAMA boards, but in those previous releases, the songs were rearranged based on the inferior sound tape version. This is the first time that it will be a sorted version from the original. I'm sure some fans think there's no need to do anything that much, but the flow from the intro to We're Gonna Groove is surprisingly fresh. The second half of the second disc contains the RAW version of the Pb master. Pinpoint noise reduction and pitch correction are performed as in the first half of Disc 1, but please rest assured that the reduction is not a process that covers up or disguises the sound, as it did in the first half of Disc 1. This section is for fans who are looking for documentary value that allows you to hear the sound closest to the Pb master, with only minimal volume adjustments required. Trace noise is also recorded slightly longer. The third disc is a reproduction of the longest live version by making full use of the remaster of the Pb master and audience recording. This concept has never been released on CD, and there are two half-hearted fan-edited items online. This time, we reproduced the longest live performance by editing with priority given to "Pb" LP as much as possible. Please note that this is just the longest length, not the full length. It took a lot of effort to connect the intro before the start of the live performance (as mentioned earlier, it turned out that there was a cut in the intro of the audience recording), and of course Heartbreaker's intro is also included in the completed version. Since there is a considerable difference in sound quality between the Pb sound and the audience recording, this third disc is treated as a bonus disc.
