As of 1973, ZEP had become a super band, touring the United States twice, but as their popularity continued to grow, they decided to tour the United States in 1975. Of course, it was possible to divide the tour into two parts, and plans were made to perform the tour in two parts, one in the first half of the year and the other in the second half of the year. Of course, this became a fantasy due to a traffic accident at the plant, but it was ZEP of this era that had achieved such stardom in America. What's more, Madison Square Garden (hereinafter referred to as MSG), which was chosen as the venue for the tour in 1970 and 1973, was surprisingly scheduled in the first half of the tour in 1975. What's more, in 1973, the show was held three nights in a row, but here it is scheduled to be held three times in a row. MSG, which used to be a proof of ZEP's success in America, became a tour stop in 1975. Rather, starting from this year, they toured the West Coast in the latter half of their tour and moved Chiakiraku to the LA Forum, which was the beginning of a new golden age for ZEP live performances. However, it is well known that ZEP ended up challenging the 1975 American tour in a backwater position. First, Jimmy Page got his finger caught in a subway door when he was leaving America. What added fuel to the situation was that after arriving in the United States, Plant traveled around in scantily clad clothing, much like a rock star, and ended up catching a cold. The tour was about to start due to an accident that damaged the health of the two front members. Chicago on the first day of the tour, which had no choice but to leave even in such a state, is also documented in “FINGER FLU: 1975 CHICAGO TAPES VOLUME 2” released by our store. Of course, for the reasons mentioned above, the band is far from being at full throttle, but in recent years the play that combines the two unshakeable rhythm section members and the two front members who are trying to play their respective roles wisely has improved in recent years. It is now being re-evaluated. In other words, it would be a waste to write it off as ``a bad first day in Chicago.'' Rather, it was Chicago where the wise performance even looked fresh, but after that ZEP did not get well. More specifically, while Page was gradually showing signs of recovery, Plant's situation was literally up and down. From Chicago, where sound sources from two of the three days were unearthed, the shows after that, such as Indianapolis on January 25th, fell into such a state that Plant could not even be seen, and finally on the 27th. It looks like the St. Louis performance will be postponed until the first half of the show, Chiakiraku. In the end, the difficult schedule was a disaster, and the plant was not in perfect condition until the MSG performance on February 12th, which is famous for "FLYING CIRCUS". However, by then, they had already completed two performances at MSG. In contrast to February 12th, which has had good sound quality since the era of audience recording and has finally become an unshakable presence with the soundboard recording of “FLYING CIRCUS,” I can’t help but feel that the impression of ’75 MSG and other days is weak. The main reason seems to be that the audience recordings on other days had a bad impression, but regarding the first day of February 3rd, only TDOLZ's "HEAVEY METAL HULLABALOO" has been released yet. . In the world of ZEP live sound sources, where almost all sound sources have been released and have been exhausted, this title is the only item that has existed for nearly 20 years. It was a selection typical of the same label that produced many valuable audience recording items after the first wave of excavation of ZEP live and sound board recordings subsided. The biggest reason why it was the only one released until now is that the area around the taper gets extremely excited at the beginning. It was quite exciting before the opening “Rock And Roll” started, and the moment the song started, it was quite jarring. There must have been some enthusiasts who got "HEAVEY METAL~" at that time who got fed up with it and stopped playing the CD. That would be fine, but unfortunately, one of the friends around me was late, and when Page started playing ``Over The Hills And Far Away'', which showed signs of recovery, she said, ``You gotta late, man!'' ” ``Sorry, I interrupted you.'' The conversation started at an unlucky moment. However, it is. It is probably overlooked that other than the conversation at the beginning of this live, the surroundings became extremely quiet. After that, when "The Rain Song" started, the conversation of "Jimmy Page!" and "I know, Brother!" came out, and it rather conveyed the enthusiasm of ZEP at its peak. It even appears in some funny scenes. Rather, I think that the one in Montreal three days later, which is familiar from "1975 WORLD TOUR", is much more jarring throughout the live performance. Rather, with this release, you may be surprised to find that the important performance is captured in a balanced sound image that is surprisingly easy to listen to. In the first half of the live performance, you can clearly hear the ups and downs of Plant's singing voice as the song progresses. On the contrary, after "The Song Remains The Same", I am surprised that the engine demodulates and sings to the extent that it can be said to be full throttle. It may be said that it was extremely difficult to get a sense of this from "HEAVEY METAL", which uses a generic cassette sound source. On the other hand, there is also a problem with Page's fingers, and at this point it is refreshing that every song is played in a compact development that inherited the flow from Chicago. Rather, it is interesting that although Page is clearly playing songs such as "Trampled Underfoot", the overall playing time is still modest. The best part is “Dazed And Confused” which was revived from this day. Due to the usual problem, "How Many More Times" was played instead for a while after the tour started, but this song was the place where ZEP from 1973 to 1975 enjoyed the most improvisation. He finally recovered from this day. Before starting it, Plant once again explains that he had sealed this song due to Page's injury, which is extremely valuable as a document of the first half of the 1975 tour. This is the great thing about ZEP, but the performance is already wonderful, and it is just a stage repertoire that has been played for many years. The only incident that occurs after Page finishes playing the bow is when John Bonham and Page start to move into an up-tempo development, and the breath of John Bonham and Page are not in sync, and you can feel the tension of "What should we do? Which one will do it?" It's been a long time since I last played, so I could just get a glimpse of the blankness. More than anything, this is the starting point for the song, where improvisation continued to grow in the United States in 1975. And finally, ``Communication Breakdown'' is a funky improvisational song led by Plant, who has regained his strength. The first day of MSG in 1975 showed a surprising level of clarity throughout this audience recording, and as the performance progressed, it became more and more fulfilling. For this release, he not only used the first generation master, but also precisely adjusted the pit, and most importantly, even the ups and downs of the sound that were noticeable at the beginning of the performance. This is an upper version that is significantly improved over "HEAVEY METAL HULLABALOO" in every sense. Live at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY. USA 3rd February 1975 Disc 1 (76:03) 1. Intro 2.
