Led Zeppelin has released so many live sound sources, but while famous sound sources continue to be released over and over again, there are also sound sources that have been completely forgotten. A good example of this is St. Paul in 1973. More than 20 years ago, it was released as "COMPLETE PERFORMANCE IN MINNESOTA" and no other items exist. In a sense, it was a title that boasted an unusually long reign, but now there are almost no enthusiasts who remember the items and sound sources. It is a typical vintage monaural audience recording with a sense of distance, and there are also pitch deviations, so it could be called a typical B-class item during the 1973 American tour. Such a forgotten St. Paul 73, but a version recorded from the master suddenly appeared on the internet last month. What's more, the person who published it was dadgad. The master drop of the 1973 sound source, which was overlooked even among enthusiasts, suddenly appeared. As expected, compared to "COMPLETE PERFORMANCE IN MINNESOTA" from the cassette copy era, it has a distinctly upper feel for the vintage audience, and the problems such as roughness, distortion, and even pitch deviation have been eliminated, making it a song for enthusiasts. Even though it is a sound source, it has become much easier to listen to. Of course, it is a monaural recording, and the sound image has a sense of distance, so the sound quality does not look good with headphones. It is also a sound source that we recommend playing from speakers. Even so, as expected, since it is a version from the master, it is not only the previous problem, but also the upper that makes you feel the freshness and depth of the sound. Again, this is a sound source for enthusiasts, but the nostalgic "COMPLETE PERFORMANCE~" has become really easy to listen to. On this day, the performance is a series of highlights...Or rather, the performance is so fulfilling that it is no exaggeration to call it the first masterpiece in the second leg of the 1973 America. However, at the beginning of the live show, Robert's condition was in tatters, following the flow (in a bad sense) of those two days in Chicago. The melody line is lowered and sung. However, the band itself didn't pay any attention to the situation, and Jimmy seemed to be in a good mood, suddenly playing the intro to "Dancing Days" before "Misty Mountain Hop". It's strange because I think so. What's more, Robert suddenly recovered from "Misty Mountain~". Even when firecrackers were set off from there, the song remained intact, and perhaps it was the sound of the firecrackers that woke him up from his sleep. You can really feel the spirit. “No Quarter” is even more surprising. This time, Bonzo wakes up and starts pounding her strangely hard. The way Bonzo stands out in this song reminds me of 1977, but unlike that time, the 1973 version is basically shorter, and it's very rare to see Bonzo hitting the drums so violently. . In this way, the first half was a slow start on this day, but clearly the band's engine will be at full throttle with "No Quarter". “Dazed and Confused” was a tremendous performance that did not disappoint. Judging from the theme part in the first half, Bonzo bursts into action, which is unusual for this time of year, and I wonder if that's because the guy from Europe from a few months ago has moved on. It's so amazing that you might think. Jimmy's bowing section is over, and the development centered on the rhythm section is completely their own. Not to be outdone, the development that Jimmy cuts into is reminiscent of Europe a few months ago, and reaches a spectacular peak around the 20 minute mark. Furthermore, toward the end, Bonzo exploded, and a tremendous performance lasting almost 30 minutes was unfolded. After this, the performance was so intense that I thought it was a different band from Chicago Two Days, and in the middle of ``Stairway to Heaven'', which I regret that there was a cut, there was a loud shout that I couldn't believe was Robert from this period. The development in “Heartbreaker”, which does not include an intro, is also great. This time, Jimmy is in top form, pulling the scene where the song should switch to "Whole Lotta Love" (lol). Just when I thought the song had finally changed, Jimmy played a lot more solo than usual and extended the performance even in the 73's famous "Let That Boy Boogie" part. And the finale "Communication Breakdown" has a strangely high tension from the intro, and Jimmy continues for a long time. At the time of "COMPLETE PERFORMANCE IN MINNESOTA", many enthusiasts were unable to appreciate the greatness of the performance due to the roughness of the sound and the pitch deviation. In this way, Jimmy's feeling of playing after "Heartbreaker" is truly spectacular, and the expression "lost masterpiece" would fit perfectly, the overlooked maniac sound source 1973 St. Paul has finally been upgraded! It was recorded for 2 hours and 43 minutes with a stable sound image. There is no problem with the freshness and brightness of the sound. Good quality too. There's also depth to the sound. A wonderful master that I never expected. This is a must listen! ! Civic Center, St. Paul, Minnesota, USA 9th July 1973 PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (67:34) 1. Intro 2. Rock And Roll 3.
