This time, our store will release two types of super famous sound board sound sources from ZEP1971. ’71 SBD? Huh, maybe Hampton? Toronto? No, it is no exaggeration to say that it is the basic of the basics rather than the standard, it is a studio live sound source of BBC radio. Speaking of BBC in 1971, it's probably the full-length sound source that circulated underground, rather than the official BBC live album, which mania has almost stopped paying attention to now (bitter smile). Even if you are not a maniac, it is natural to give preference to the sound source where you can listen to all the live performances. This time, it is the appearance of the culmination of the 1971 BBC sound source that accompanied it! First to appear is a new stereo-mixed version that was suddenly broadcast on FM in Japan in 1996 and shocked enthusiasts around the world. From here, a masterpiece called "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" was created at the time, but while it was an air check from the broadcast in 1996, this time it was recorded with the highest sound quality from the Pre-FM master before the broadcast. . Of course, this sound source had previously been released such as “BBC ARCHIVES”, but that was ten years ago now. It is a sound source that is known as the "best sound quality version" among overseas enthusiasts, and this time there is no unnecessary equalization, and the only noise that occurs at 2:34 of "Dazed And Confused" is removed. I'm limiting myself to just that. After all, it was just the basis of the official “BBC SESSIONS”, and the sophisticated stereo mixing finish has not faded at all even if you listen to it now. Compared to the stereo mix of the full-length sound source introduced next, there is no unnaturalness at all. This version is characterized by a momentary "swoosh" sound that appears at the 4 and a half minute mark of "Heartbreaker". Other than that, it can be said to be a literally super excellent sound source that will lower the thirst of those who felt unsatisfied with the official version, which was shortened with subtle editing. The third and fourth discs are full-length sound sources that have become extremely popular since the CD era. The full-length version is captured from the studio setting before the band announcement and applause by host John Peel. In the previous sound source, there is a cut between "Mess Of Blues" and "Honey Bee" of the "Whole Lotta Love" medley, which was skillfully cross-faded, but the unshortened state is also recorded as is. This sound source is also famous for its rough stereo feel, which is like an album recording by an artist from the 1960s. More than that, the fact that this full-length sound source, which had previously had some problems with pitch deviation, was recorded with the pitch adjusted accurately for the first time will be a surprising selling point to enthusiasts. Although many items have been released as mentioned above, there were few items that could be listened to from beginning to end at a stable pitch. Other than the currently most popular complete version item that combines this sound source with the 1996 version sound source, I felt that items that recorded this pure sound source with accurate pitch were overlooked. And not only the pitch, but also the noise that was found here and there (particularly frequently in "Dazed And Confused") was also precisely removed. The last recorded version is the version broadcast by a German radio station of the 1996 version sound source. Of course, the original is the same stereo mix, and it can be said that the edited version and the part where the intro of “Stairway To Heaven” is missing are maniacal. However, John Peel's introduction is omitted, and "Thank You" and "Communication Breakdown", which were played at the end of the live performance, are rearranged in the first half, making the editing contents quite interesting. Of course, for this recording, the original slow pitch was accurately adjusted. There are German announcements at the end of the first and second discs, making this a sound source that can be fully enjoyed as an alternative broadcast of famous sound sources. Therefore, each sound source is a stereo soundboard recording whose pitch has been adjusted accurately and noise has been removed, and while it is of official quality, on the other hand, ZEP's gentle performance, which was conscious of BBC radio recording, is recorded with perfect clarity. It is also a collection of enjoyable sound sources. It is true that there is no explosive feeling like the Japanese performance half a year later, but the appeal of the 1971 BBC is that it captures the 1971 feel of the plant's clear scream. Especially considering that this was a live show that was recorded after being postponed once. A combination of the 1996 version that anyone can enjoy with peace of mind and the full-length sound source that will be appreciated by enthusiasts due to the importance of recording.
