The 1973 American tour was the time when Led Zeppelin's career reached the next level as a stadium band. The oldest record of this was held at Tampa Stadium on May 5th. A stadium rock show held in front of a large audience of nearly 60,000 people. Fortunately, on this day, there were two types of sound sources with surprisingly good sound quality even though the audience was recorded in a vast venue, and items that mainly used "Recorder 1" have been released since the LP era. Ta. This "Recorder 1" has a sound image that is so close that it is hard to believe that it was recorded from the audience seats by a member of a large audience of nearly 60,000 people, and yet the hard recording condition typical of an outdoor stadium gave it a unique appeal. With the arrival of the CD era, "Recorder 2" has appeared. Although this is not at the level of "recorder 1", it was still a sound source that falls into the category of stadium audience recording that is very easy to listen to. Currently, titles that mix these two types of sound sources and show complete recordings of live performances are becoming mainstream. There are many enthusiasts who own some of these items. Both sound sources were lacking in some way, and it was an ideal situation in which they could compensate for each other's weaknesses. Tampa Stadium was a famous recording at the beginning of the 1973 American tour. The master of "recorder 1", which was the best source among them, appeared on the internet this month. Until now, low-generation versions have been on the market, and these were the source of past items. If you have asked about these items, you probably know that they were in a state where you could enjoy them with sufficiently high sound quality. However, when some generation loss occurred due to cassette copying, the hard texture of this sound source became more or less noticeable, and when speaking of Tampa Stadium, people had the impression that it was ``high quality but creaky.'' I think there are many enthusiasts out there. In that respect, this master has eliminated this harsh feeling, and there is no doubt that you will be surprised by the upper feeling that makes it easier to hear the Tampa Stadium, which was made with high sound quality in the first place. Therefore, the wide variety of cuts that were the shortcomings of this source were of course compensated for with "recorder 2". This was also a common practice for Tampa stadium items, but it was also true that there were surprisingly many items with loose connections. If you listen to this supplement for "The Song Remains The Same", one of the most famous cuts in "Recorder 1", you will feel that it is connected more smoothly than past items. . Not only were the joints rough, but there were even items where the connected sound sources had slight pitch deviations. Also, this is important, but for "Recorder 2", the files recorded from the master were already circulating on the Internet, so of course we adopted them. In other words, the noteworthy point of this release is that both sources are based on the version recorded from the master! This day is the beginning of the tour and the second stadium show following Atlanta the day before, so you can see that everyone is trying to play carefully, especially in the first half of the live show. As the American tour progresses, Robert and Jimmy's style shifts to stage action in order to keep the stadium audience from getting bored, so the careful performance here is all the more refreshing. In particular, "Since I've Been Loving You" is a masterpiece in which Jimmy not only has a large number of notes, but also a detailed play. However, here they faced the reality of stadium live performances. Skirmishes break out around the taper. In addition, Robert also warns the audience, and in the first half of the live it seems that both performers and viewers are fumbling for the stadium show, and at this point even the short song ``No Quarter'' has people around them The scenes that captured future issues such as making a fuss seemed to be typical of an outdoor stadium. In this way, they were able to get through the first half carefully, and the whole band exploded with a wild performance at “Dazed And Confused”. Especially from around the 19th minute, Bonzo & Jonesy started to get tricky, and Jimmy followed suit. The way he knocks it down here is so wonderful that it reminds me of Europe a few months ago. It is without a doubt the best performance of the day, and as the tour progresses, the style changes from such technique to action-oriented (lol), so the wonderful development of this day's performance stands out even more. And instead of the ending, "Moby Dick" ends with a medley to "Hertbreaker", which is an arrangement unique to the early part of the tour, and "The Ocean", which had been played in the United States for a year, was finally released. As a result, from this day on, the same pattern as the album version, starting with Bonzo's lines and counting, was heard (probably the same in Atlanta the day before), and so on. Captured high-quality audience. Naturally, the jacket features a photo of Jimmy wearing a white top and bottom, which is unique to this day. It goes without saying that this is the definitive version of Tampa Stadium, but above all, the upper feeling of the main source is surprising!
