"BATH FESTIVAL" is the most important festival that determined their popularity in the UK, where "Immigrant Song" and "That's the Way" were premiered worldwide. The shocking pro shot is back. A longer version with additional backstage scenes will be released. This work was shot, of course, on June 28, 1970 at Shepton Mallet. This is the 16mm film. As enthusiastic collectors may remember, this footage was unearthed in September 2002. It was an unreleased 16mm film shot by Peter Whitehead, known for the early clips of the Stones and PINK FLOYD, and Ernie Vinci of "Shanghai Surprise". What was shocking was the beauty of the footage. It was a completely different dimension from the usual 8mm, and the super clear resolution and the coloring of the scene itself were of movie quality. Moreover, it was a pro shot. The shooting location was completely on stage, and the appearance of Plant and Bonzo was captured in a super close-up without any hesitation from the wings and back. However, it is a little different from what you would normally associate with the term "pro shot". It is not a continuous music video, but rather a piecemeal shot of a few seconds or a dozen seconds. For example, it is a shooting method similar to the stock footage for news programs (when it was first released, it was also a news footage account). Such 16mm caused a shock, and immediately, a version in which an overseas enthusiast synchronized the recording on the day, known as "THE BOY NEXT DOOR", with the silent film was also circulated. However, immediately after that, it was deleted from the video site due to a declaration from the original public account. It became a phantom image that could only be seen on "BATH FESTIVAL 1970 16mm". And this work is a revival of that phantom image. The previous edition "BATH FESTIVAL 1970 16mm" only had about 11 minutes of live scenes, but this time it is a long version of 17 and a half minutes with about 6 minutes of the members walking around backstage. Moreover, this backstage scene is also very interesting. The close-up of their faces, even closer than during the live performance, is very powerful, and the dressing room scene where they are chatting is also extremely valuable. Unfortunately, the backstage scenes are also silent, so you can't hear what they are saying, but in this work, the sound of the festival on the day is overlaid, creating a video work that realistically conveys the atmosphere of the 1970s festival. A close-up of Plant, who was a 21-year-old young man at the time, Bonzo performing alone in a sleeveless outfit while the others are wearing thick clothes, Paige and Jonesy, whose hands are featured, and the crowd spectacle of the "BATH FESTIVAL", which attracted 150,000 people over three days. All of this is a miraculous one-camera professional shot that is revived with movie quality. Please experience the long version with the addition of a precious and close-up backstage. A shocking 16mm film that conveys the historic festival has been released. The super-excellent video of the movie quality is synchronized with the sound of the day. This is a long version with about 11 minutes of live performance and about 6 minutes of backstage added. Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, England 28th June 1970 PRO-SHOT 1.
