The most brilliant moment of ZEP's 1977 American tour. There is no doubt that it will be the LA Forum 6 show in June. The best evidence is that items containing these 6 performances have been released regularly since the 1990s, and each time they have been a hot topic among enthusiasts. At the same time, no matter how good the performance is and how fulfilling it is, there are still very few people, no matter how enthusiastic, who can listen to the 1977 tour in succession, where each live performance lasts a long time. That's why, instead of releasing all the shows of each LA performance, our store has selected the sound sources and released only those with good sound quality. The fact that the items sold out immediately each time proves the exceptional popularity of the 1977 LA performance, and at the same time, there are constant requests for re-releases of some of those recordings. . The best example is June 21st, which was released at the same time this time, but June 27th was also the day when there were similar requests for re-release. Not only is it a historical fact that this day marked the final of the 1977 LA performance, which spanned six times, but it also has a great meaning as the end of ZEP's glorious period on the 1977 tour. In fact, although the 1977 tour resumed in July, it did not reach the level of the LA performance, and the tour was forced to end due to a family tragedy that happened to Plant. Therefore, the last live stage where the heaviness and glaring appearance of the 1977 tour sound showed its true potential is this June 27th. It was the last day of our live show at the LA Forum, a venue that ZEP loved to perform at. It is also the last day of the longest series of performances at the same venue to date. So, ZEP gave everything they had and put on a marathon live performance worthy of the final day. There is no doubt that it was a special night not only in the LA performance but also in the 1977 American tour. Mike Millard must have fully anticipated that this day would be a special live show. Furthermore, since we have been recording since June 21st, we had a good idea of the stage composition. Therefore, the recording condition of the mirrored sound source on this day can be called perfect. In other words, it is a wonderful recording state without fatal cuts like “Ten Years Gone” on the 21st. Originally, only his sound source exists on this day, but it can be called an unwavering presence that is enough for everything. The almost vivid sound image of Jimmy's guitar can be said to be the result of the know-how accumulated from recording performances every day. Therefore, many items that have been made into CDs of mirrored sound sources have been released, and our store also released “LOS ANGELES 1977 FINAL NIGHT” last year, which is still fresh in my memory. It was also a day when there were many requests for a re-release for the reasons mentioned above, but like this June 21st, it is more than just a re-release. I got a low generation copy of Mirrored Master, also in new condition. This time, the treble sounds are more relaxed, and this one clearly followed a different distribution route, yet it convinces us that it is extremely close to the master. By using Dolby NR on and off, I prefer to amplify the extension of the treble while taking advantage of the hiss. This captures the exciting (but by no means intrusive) extension of the treble that is typical of a mirrored sound source. . His recordings not only have an amazing sound image for the 70's, but also have a unique trebly sound quality that is unique to mirrored sound sources. And in recent years, as analysis has progressed, enthusiasts often say that June 27th is one of the milestones for 1977 ZEP. That's what it means. Ever since June 21st was released in the LP era, most people have praised June 21st as the sole winner of the 1977 tour, but it's somewhere between that day and Destroyer. is June 27th, and I think this is a good sign. It's true that Butobi Bonzo on the 21st was really intense and was a masterpiece that knocked out many enthusiasts, but his presence was too large and it was never balanced as an ensemble with a hard rock sound. . In that respect, the 27th can be called "average" in a good sense. That's what it means. It is certainly a spectacular marathon live, but from the opening “The Song Remains The Same” it has an upper atmosphere compared to the 21st, but Bonzo does not have the same flying feeling as that day. Or, when you listen to “No Quarter”, the difference is noticeable, and on this day you can clearly see the scene where you relax during a long performance. However, since 1977's "No Quarter" included more free development than before, the remaining sound source proves that it became easier to slacken in the middle. On the 21st, they were able to overcome this with a continuous uppercut, but the 27th was probably more regular in its development and atmosphere for 1977. In fact, the biggest attraction on June 27th is the acoustic part, which will be played in a freer atmosphere than ever before! After all, Page proudly changes the tuning of the acoustic guitar in the middle of “Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp” and starts playing “Dancing Days”. The scene where they return to “Bron-Yr~” from there is what can be called the 1977 ZEP’s great performance. This was the last moment of brilliance at the LA Forum, a venue ZEP loved so much. Just like June 21st, don't miss the ultimate night of the 1977 American tour! The Forum, Inglewood, California, USA 27th June 1977 Disc 1 (75:35) 1. Intro 2. The Song Remains The Same 3.
