This masterpiece, which was praised as "the best HOW THE WEST WAS WON" and "the original sound", has been revived with the latest meticulous remaster. The source of this work is "HOW THE WEST WAS REDONE" produced by "WINSTON REMASTERS". It is a masterpiece that took the world by storm as the best sound version of the official live album "HOW THE WEST WAS WON". It all started in 2003 when the official "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" was released. It was a groundbreaking official release that surprised the world, but the sound was excessively loud. Although it was a sound that was approaching the power, everything was rushed in as a wall of sound, and the fine details were buried. This was not just a story about "HOW THE WEST WAS WON", but also a trend in the rock world and the entire music world at that time. Digital remastering became a big trend in the late 90s, and as the same work was mastered many times, high sound pressure became the standard. The reason for this is human hearing. The human ear is more likely to perceive high sound pressure as "clear". Of course, this is laughable to discerning music fans, but products are sold to all demographics. As a result, mastering, which was supposed to be a "high sound quality competition", eventually turned into a "sound pressure competition (what is known as the loudness war)", and even if the engineers themselves knew that it was "too loud", it became so heated that they were afraid of public opinion and could not lower it. Although it has calmed down now, in 2003 when "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" was released, it was the time when the loudness war was about to reach its peak. Of course, there is no way that ZEP enthusiasts all over the world would approve of the loudness war. So "WINSTON REMASTERS" produced "HOW THE WEST WAS REDONE" with the aim of achieving the best sound, the original sound. This is based on the 6-channel sound of the official DVD-AUDIO, and aims for a "more natural sound" and "sound that is easier on the ears". All the sounds have been reborn naturally, but especially the bass notes of Jonesy, which were buried in the wall of sound on the official version, were wonderful. The dynamism and groove have been restored, and enthusiasts all over the world are very impressed. One of them is none other than Jimmy Page himself. He has visited our store many times, and he eagerly asked, "What is different from the official version?" and "What is the problem with the official version?" He was very interested in the finished product. However, the story is not over yet. The original "REDONE" was also a product of 2012, when there was a strong backlash against the loudness war worldwide. Now, four years later, the reflections on the loudness war have settled down, and "what is truly good sound" is pursued in a dimension that goes beyond mere "high and low sound pressure". This work has been remastered according to the standards of 2016. Of course, there is no point in applying flashy equalization, so we carefully adjusted the sound image and volume that we thought would be optimal. While making the most of the original texture, we added scale-up and a little brightness to create a natural yet powerful sound. You will immediately notice the difference if you listen to it and compare it. This work is "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" from 2016, which we believe to be the best. You can vividly feel the natural and detailed details that are completely different from the sound of the official version, and you can also enjoy the heavy listening response that is different from the original "REDONE". This work alone is enough to enjoy the Shangri-La of ZEP live, but if you listen to it and compare it, the fun will double. Please enjoy this superb sound to your heart's content.
