This latest 2025 edition, a 4-CD set, features four shows from the Fillmore West concert on their 1969 North American tour, known as one of Zep's earliest live shows: the January 11th performance and three shows from April 24th to 27th. Originally compiled and edited with AI stereo demixing, this release combines the numerous soundboard recordings from the 1969 Fillmore West concert, which has been the subject of numerous collector's items, with other existing recordings. This newly upgraded edition, featuring original AI stereo demixing, delivers a new level of quality by remixing previously unbalanced or mono soundboard recordings from demixed multi-tracks. The "First Set" shows, from January 11th and April 24th, were converted from mono soundboard recordings unearthed in the 1990s to true stereo, bringing out previously unheard-of vocals and instruments. The opening track and "Train Kept a Rollin'" from the April 24th performance are audience recordings of what was previously the January 9th performance. While the sound quality is still inferior, they are valuable sources and have been added as additional material. The April 24th performance is from a premium sound source, formerly known as a soundboard, and the original raw, low-generation sound is now presented in a more three-dimensional stereo balance. Furthermore, the "Second Set" is a recording of the first and second stages on April 27th. While a long-standing soundboard staple, there were some gaps, which were filled in with audience recordings, resulting in a nearly complete recording. This set is also recorded in its entirety in a newly remixed stereo remaster from demixed multitracks, resulting in even more polished sound quality.
