This album features two rare live recordings from 1974, around the time of the release of "Introducing the Eleventh House With Larry Coryell," the hard jazz rock period of Coryell's career. Both recordings are based on the original broadcast masters and newly remastered in 2025. Disc 1 features a February 23 performance in Rochester, New York. Coryell's hard jazz/rock sound is evident throughout, as evidenced by the band's inspiration for McLaughlin's Mahavishnu. Coryell's rugged, heavy-gauge jazz guitar playing erupts into thunderous hard rock. The second half of the album also includes four additional tracks from the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland on July 5. The Rochester performance features original trumpeter Randy Brecker, who later replaced him, playing on the latter half. Disc 2, recorded on April 5th at the Bottom Line in New York, showcases Coryell's explosive guitar work alongside the eccentric rhythm section, including lightning-fast picking, wah-wah solos, and backing tracks using phase-shifting effects. Alfonso's incredible drumming is also a highlight, making this a must-listen for fans of Mahavishnu, Brand X, and Isotope jazz/rock.
