KISS in 1990 participated in a charity concert for an 8-year-old girl suffering from an incurable disease. This very special club gig CD is now available. This work is engraved with the "April 14, 1990 Asbury Park performance". It is a superb audience recording recorded at the legendary club "The Stone Pony", which is also known as the place where Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi started their careers. Speaking of KISS in 1990, it was the year of the "HOT IN THE SHADE Tour", and the Detroit performances made official in "KISSOLOGY" and "DETROIT MAY 1990 UPGRADE" are standard. First, let's take a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time and organize their respective positions. 1989: October 17th release of "HOT IN THE SHADE" 1990 March 11th - April 25th: Warm-up (3 shows) ←★Here★ May 4th - August 8th: North America #1 (64 shows) ←※DETROIT MAY 1990 August 16th - November 9th: North America #2 (57 shows) ←※Official video 1991: November 24th: Eric Carr dies This is KISS from the "HOT IN THE SHADE" era. The "HOT IN THE SHADE Tour" was Eric Carr's last tour, but the Asbury Park performance of this work was a warm-up gig held before the start of the tour. It was the second of three performances. This work, which vacuum-packed such a rare scene, is a masterpiece that combines the closed-door feeling of a club with the ultimate listening experience. As usual, it is the best master brought by our own route, and it is just super thick and direct. The heat of the audience trapped in a closed room is real, but the performance sound is so strong that it completely dominates it and makes the frenzy feel like a ripple far away. The two guitars are nicely separated, the drums kick up the five organs, and the bass, which is rough and gritty, shakes the six viscera. The audience's unique tone and liveliness are unwavering, so it's not mistaken for a sound board, but the ease of listening/listening itself is the same as FM broadcasting. The thick and direct sound depicts an even rarer warm-up gig, even in the precious "HOT IN THE SHADE" era. Let's organize the set by comparing it with the aforementioned "KISSOLOGY" and "DETROIT MAY 1990 UPGRADE". HOT IN THE SHADE (3 songs) Rise To It (★) / Betrayed (★★) / Hide Your Heart Others (10 songs) 70's: I Stole Your Love / Deuce / C'mon And Love Me (★★) / Calling Dr. Love / Love Gun / Detroit Rock City / Black Diamond 80's: Heaven's On Fire / Fits Like A Glove / I Love It Loud *Note: The "★" mark indicates songs that were not heard on the official "KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO". In particular, the "★★" mark indicates songs that were not heard on "DETROIT MAY 1990". ... and so on. The best part is the new songs on "HOT IN THE SHADE", especially "Rise To It" and "Betrayed", which are limited songs that were only played on this tour. "Fits Like A Glove" is also surprisingly valuable. They performed it once in 1995 at the acoustic "Konvention", but the "HOT IN THE SHADE Tour" was the last time they performed it in a regular electric set. The performance itself is even more rare than the set. After all, it's been a year and a half since the "CRAZY NIGHTS Tour", and all of the "HOT IN THE SHADE" numbers are world premieres. "I Stole Your Love" and "C'mon and Love Me" are also a big comeback since the 70s, and they're fiercely fresh. "Fits Like A Glove" is even more overflowing with a warm-up feeling. It starts off lightly with the intro of the playful "Heartbreaker", but they make a mistake and the song falls apart in an instant. They try again. It's a confusing scene where the excitement gets ahead of them and the forward-leaning mood spills out. It's a scorching live album that forcibly packs arena-class potential into a club. If the set is rare, the performance and mistakes are also extremely rare. You can experience a precious full show from every point of view with a thick sound that is far from the audience. This is a piece that is truly worthy of being called a cultural heritage of KISS history. The best audience recording of the "April 14, 1990 Asbury Park performance". The master, brought by a unique route at a charity event that also served as a warm-up for the "HOT IN THE SHADE Tour", has a thick sound that is far from the audience. You can fully experience extremely rare club gigs, such as the precious "HOT IN THE SHADE" number, the revival songs "I Stole Your Love" and "C'mon and Love Me" since the 1970s, and "Fits Like A Glove" that will be redone due to a mistake.
