KISS was at the height of their heyday in 1976, releasing one historic album after another. This newly unearthed album allows you to experience that tour rehearsal. This work permanently preserves "November 15, 1976, Reading." This rehearsal album was recorded at an Army National Guard camp. Speaking of 1976, three tours were running in parallel: "ALIVE! Tour," "DESTROYER Tour," and "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour," and rehearsals were held for each. So what does this album fit into that? Let's start by taking a bird's-eye view of their activities, including rehearsals. "ALIVE! Tour" (January 22nd: rehearsal) ・January 23rd - March 28th: North America #1 (35 shows) "DESTROYER Tour" ・April 11th - May 4th: North America #2 (13 shows) (May 11th + 12th: rehearsal) ・May 13th - June 6th: Europe (17 shows) (June 27th: rehearsal) ・July 3rd - September 12th: North America #3 (35 shows) (October 19th: rehearsal) "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" (November 7th - 12th: NY rehearsal) ←※NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976 (November 15th - 21st: Reading rehearsal) ←★Coco★ ・November 24th - December 30th: North America #4 (22 shows) New master with double the number of Aucoin & Lille tracks This is KISS in 1976. Rehearsals for the "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" took place in New York for six days and Reading for seven days, and the footage is also familiar from the classic "NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976." That press masterpiece included both the New York rehearsal "November 11th" and the Reading rehearsal "November 15th," but this work is an upgraded master of the latter. It's a top-notch updated version with incomparable sound and length. This new master was unearthed through familiar insider channels, but the length is unmatched. "NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976" was about 29 minutes (10 songs), but this work is about double that, at 56 minutes. To give you a sense of the volume of songs, let's compare and organize them here. KISS (5 songs), Strutter, Firehouse, Cold Gin (2 takes), Deuce (★), Black Diamond (★), ROCK AND ROLL OVER (4 songs), Take Me, Ladies Room, Hard Luck Woman, Makin' Love, Others (5 songs), DESTROYER: Detroit Rock City, Do You Love Me, God Of Thunder (★), Others: Let Me Go, Rock And Roll, Rock And Roll All Nite (★) *Note: "★" indicates songs not heard on the Aucoin Masters pressing of the classic album "NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976." ...and so on. The simple increase in volume alone is significant, but the flow it creates is also important. "NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976" included only the first half of the rehearsal, while this album also includes the second half. It turns out that this rehearsal was actually a run-through in the actual performance style. The sound is top-notch, with powerful bass and, even more importantly, a sound that permeates the entire album. It's simply exquisite. The "New York Rehearsals 1976" version was also based on a reel master owned by original manager Bill Aucoin, but this new master takes it even further. While the clarity is on par with the Aucoin reel's "New York Rehearsals 1976," this release is even heavier and denser. The bass is particularly powerful, with every detail beautifully preserved, delivering a powerful impact that kicks you in the gut and shakes your viscera. The "New York Rehearsals 1976" version, once so beautiful, now sounds thin and flimsy after experiencing this release. The recording time and sound surpass even the supposedly ultimate Aucoin Reese's. This is a new masterpiece, featuring a run-through rehearsal of KISS from their golden age, presented with an absolutely astonishing new master. It's not just a secret pleasure to peek behind the scenes, but also a masterpiece of musical production, a studio live album. This rehearsal album was recorded in Reading on November 15, 1976. It's a greatly expanded and updated version of the sound source, some of which was also included on the classic album, "NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976." Not only has it nearly doubled in length to 56 minutes, it also boasts a powerful sound with plenty of density, even down to the deep bass. This is a live studio album that lets you enjoy a run-through rehearsal from the "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour."
