A special live album that is different from the well-known "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" and the usual "LOVE GUN Tour" has appeared. A famous recording that allows you to fully experience the hidden show in KISS history has been decided to be permanently preserved. This work is recorded in "Montreal performance on July 12, 1977". It is an excellent audience recording in which a part of the purple ribbon was vacuum-packed. Speaking of 1977, it was a time when three tours were replaced one after another. First of all, let's explore the position of this work while taking a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time. “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” January 1st - March 7th: North America #1 (38 performances) ←※ MSG FEBRUARY 1977 March 24th - April 4th: First visit to Japan (10 performances) ←※ COMPLETE BUDOKAN 1977 and others “LOVE GUN Tour” July 8th - September 5th: North America #2 (30 performances) ←★ Here ★ “ALIVE II Tour” November 15th - December 31st: North America #3 (27 performances) ←※ LARGO 1977 This is KISS in 1977. We archive each leg as a masterpiece, but the “LOVE GUN Tour” is as prolific as the legendary first visit to Japan. Let’s focus on the dates and organize our press masterpiece collection. Details of the "LOVE GUN Tour" {June 30th "LOVE GUN" released}・July 8th + 9th (2 shows) *July 12th: Montreal show ←★This work★・July 14th - August 13th (15 shows) *August 16th "SAN FRANCISCO 1977 (SBD)"・August 17th - 22nd (4 shows) *August 26th "L.A. FORUM 1977 1ST NIGHT" ←※ALIVE II recording date・August 27th Inglewood show ←※ALIVE II recording date・August 28th Inglewood show ←※ALIVE II recording date*September 1st "HOUSTON 1977 1ST NIGHT (video)"*September 2nd "HOUSTON 1977 2ND NIGHT (video)"*September 4th + 5th "FORT WORTH 1977 (SBD)" "September 13-16 "ALIVE II" studio work" ... and it is like this. There are many masterpieces such as the pro shot "HOUSTON 1977" series and the sound board masterpiece "SAN FRANCISCO 1977", but this Montreal performance was the third performance of the very early tour, which went back much further than those. This "very early" is the point. KISS is a band that tends to have a fixed set, but they sometimes try various things immediately after the start of the tour. This work allows you to enjoy a rare set before the standard set of "LOVE GUN Tour" is solidified. The order of the songs is especially important, so let's introduce it in order by section. Start part (2 songs) Detroit Rock City / Take Me The opening part is the most "What?" The standard set of "LOVE GUN Tour" starts with "I Stole Your Love", but the initial set is the above two songs. This flow is the same as their first visit to Japan, so to speak, the "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" style. It's an opening that makes you want to look at the date twice. Main section (first 7 songs) ・ Calling Dr. Love / Hooligan / Love Gun / Firehouse / Ladies Room / Christine Sixteen / I Stole Your Love The first two songs are reminiscent of their first visit to Japan, but after that, it's a unique color. They include new songs from "LOVE GUN". The song selection is the same as the standard set of "LOVE GUN Tour", but the song order is dramatically different. If you compare the above with "SAN FRANCISCO 1977", you can imagine that the atmosphere is quite different. This flow is the freshest part of the early set. Main section (last 3 songs + Ace solo) ・ Shock Me / Ace solo / I Want You / Makin' Love The show, which has been progressing with its own mood, becomes more like "LOVE GUN Tour" in the second half. There is Ace's solo time, but "Shock Me" and "I Want You" are sandwiched between it. This flow is familiar as a standard of the later "LOVE GUN Tour". However, the flow that "Makin' Love" receives after that is unique. In the "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour", "Do You Love Me" played that role, and in the standard set of the "LOVE GUN Tour", it was "Calling Dr. Love". Endgame (5 songs + Gene/Peter solo) Gene's solo/God Of Thunder/Peter's solo/God Of Thunder (reprise)/Rock And Roll All Nite/Shout It Out Loud/Beth/Black Diamond Now, the show will enter into a killer song rush with Gene/Peter's solo time in between. Here, the "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" mood is revived again. The selection and song order are exactly the same as the first visit to Japan, and like the opening part, it is a highlight that makes you think "Is this Japan?" I was late in mentioning the unique set, but this work, which conveys such a full show, also has an excellent sound. As always, it is the best master brought by our own route, and the core is strong, extremely clear, and delicate to the details. It is not so close that it is called "like a sound board", but it is too clear so it does not seem like an audience. It feels like an FM broadcast with a slightly stronger echo component, combined with an audience that does not have a close voice that gives a sense of vast excitement. The opening and highlights are "ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour" style, but there are plenty of new songs. It is a live album that allows you to enjoy a full show like "the first visit to Japan with LOVE GUN numbers thrown in". A super rare set only from the early days of the tour. An excellent audience recording of the "Montreal performance on July 12, 1977". The best master brought by our own route has a strong core, is extremely clear, and is delicate to the details. With a clear sound like an FM broadcast, you can enjoy a super rare set only at the beginning of the tour, starting with "Detroit Rock City" and including plenty of "LOVE GUN" numbers.
