In 1996, the original lineup of Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter performed a large-scale reunion tour with makeup for the first time in 13 years, which greatly excited fans around the world. In 1997, the Japanese tour was held with six shows, including a performance at the Tokyo Dome, and was also a great success (despite an accident in Osaka, such as Gene's throat trouble). This board is a direct DVD from the video master that a maniac recorded and carefully stored at the time, "Kiss Live History - Miracle Resurrection Special", which was broadcast as a one-hour program on Japan's national satellite broadcasting on November 6, two months before the arrival in Japan. The image quality is surprisingly good and can be used for an official release as it is. It is an excellent product that will surely leave everyone astonished at the quality of the video recording. At this time, when the topic of Kiss reunion was all over Japan, most fans probably recorded this program on video and were looking forward to the upcoming Japanese performance. This program was produced independently in Japan (I am one of them). The video quality is so good that you would think it was produced by a national broadcasting station, and it is so good that you would not feel the length of 18 years. The content is a familiar live video that was also included in the official version, skillfully edited in a unique way to trace the history of Kiss. It introduces the history familiar to fans at a good pace, including Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, and Bruce Kulick who took over after Ace's departure, Eric Carr who joined after Peter Criss' departure, his sudden death, Eric Singer who joined at short notice, Peter Criss' participation at the 1995 Kiss Convention, the familiar unplugged performance with Ace, and the 1996 reunion tour. The English MC is also great and full of mood. (Of course, with Japanese subtitles.) Even if a video biography were made today, I doubt it would feature the non-makeup era from the 1980s to the early 1990s in such detail and specificity. The live footage from Japan includes God Of Thunder from their first visit to Japan in 1977, and Fits Like A Glove at the Budokan in 1988. The performance of Kiss during the 1988 "Crazy Night" period, which was full of hard charm, had a physical coolness that was different from the makeup era, and everyone will be captivated by the powerful live performance (although it's a little late). The 1996 New York press conference video, where Gene famously said, "We're going to prove that what everyone has heard about Kiss is not a legend, but the truth," and the enthusiastic live footage at Madison Square Garden in New York and Tiger Stadium in Detroit realistically convey the excitement of the time. At the end, you can also see a precious video message to Japanese fans.
