KANSAS's new album ``THE PRELUDE IMPLICIT'', their first in 16 years, has been the talk of the town, and just before its release, a superb greatest hits live performance is now available. This work was recorded “August 6, 2016 Los Angeles performance”. The stage was about a month and a half before the release of "THE PRELUDE IMPLICIT", and there were no new songs yet. This is a best-selected live audience album made up of only the most representative songs from the 70's and early 80's. KANSAS is currently on a tour with the theme of their new work and the 40th anniversary of their masterpiece "LEFTOVERTURE", but why did this work, which is usually a live selection of best songs, come out at such a timing? The answer is quality. People often say, "It's like a soundboard...", but the dimension of this work is not that, and there are question marks in my head, "Isn't this a soundboard?", "Isn't this a broadcast?" It's a sound that spins around. It's like I can explain it with just these words, but the neat, detailed and thick musical tone, almost no cheers... It really seems like a broadcast sound source. However, if you listen carefully with headphones, this work is certainly an audience. There is definitely a large, enthusiastic audience far away that is not noticeable even between songs. This creates a really good mood. The scene was a venue set up in the outdoor performance “Pershing Square”, but it was probably recorded straight towards the PA tower far away from the stage. Although there is a feeling that there is no direct connection between the output sound and the taper, there is also an atmosphere that definitely makes you feel "on the spot". It's the feeling of openness that can only be experienced outdoors, or the temperature of a summer festival in hot August. A beautiful violin melody dances in that space, and a singing voice that almost feels like the mouth of a microphone spreads out and disappears with zero reverberation. An incredibly direct feeling and a scented atmosphere. The “ideal of audience recording” that holds both of these aspects to its utmost has emerged. KANSAS's ginger, which is depicted with that sound, is a special grade. Unlike the conceptual show currently in progress, fans will be able to play only the songs they want to hear to their heart's content. The lineup is centered on the famous album "POINT OF KNOW RETURN", and is limited to "SONG FOR AMERICA" in 1975 and "DRASTIC MEASURES" in 1983. It's so gorgeous that it picked up all the top spots on the ``exciting song rankings'', or was it even based on a fan popularity vote? It is a thorough best set. “Good sound,” “good songs,” and “good performances.” ELO's "RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL 2016 2ND NIGHT (Uxbridge 599)", which will be released at the same time this week, is also a masterpiece that reaches the pinnacle of three elements, but this one that can be called the KANSAS edition (of course, this work is ELO's The only thing they have in common is "extreme quality". They have nothing to do with each other). Even whether or not you're a KANSAS fan is a minor issue. This is a masterpiece of a ``music album'' that we recommend to anyone who wants to experience a musical work that is simply filled with ``amazing sounds,'' ``amazing songs,'' and ``amazing performances.'' I'm looking forward to receiving the recording of the "LEFTOVERTURE" 40th Anniversary Tour, which has just begun, but before that, this is a live album that I definitely want to enjoy.
