A sequel album to the great masterpiece "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977" has been born. A new masterpiece in which the absolute master Mike Millard vacuum-packed his heyday has appeared. This work was recorded at the "August 16, 1978 Inglewood performance". It is a superb audience recording. Speaking of "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977", of course, it is the masterpiece recorded by Millard. So what is the relationship between that great masterpiece and this work? First, let's take a look at an overview of their activities at the time. 1977: July: "POINT OF KNOW RETURN" completed. August 5th - September 4th: North America #1 (8 shows) October 11th: "POINT OF KNOW RETURN" released. October 21st - December 31st: North America #2a (34 shows) *LONG BEACH ARENA 1977 1978: January 1st - 23rd: North America #2b (11 shows). March 7th - 27th: Europe (14 shows). June 23rd - August 26th: North America #3 (40 shows) *HERE* October: "TWO FOR THE SHOW" released. This is KANSAS in 1977 and 1978. Both this work and "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977" are from the same "POINT OF KNOW RETURN Tour", but the legs are different, and the Inglewood performance of this work is the 36th performance of "North America # 3", the final one. It was a concert about 8 and a half months after the previous work "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977". It is a live album that is a sequel to "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977", but in fact there is another masterpiece in the first part of this work. It is the press masterpiece "L.A. FORUM 1978 (Zodiac 393)" of THIN LIZZY with Gary Moore. The main act of the day was KANSAS, and the opening act was THIN LIZZY, and Millard recorded both of them consecutively. If you have experienced KANSAS's "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977" or THIN LIZZY's "L.A. FORUM 1978", you will know that this work is also a superb sound worthy of the name of a sequel. The extremely thick feeling without a sense of distance, the details and vividness of the bare feet of the sound board... Nevertheless, that is because there is a recording omission. The recording stopped in the middle of "Mysteries & Mayhem", and "Lamplight Symphony", "The Wall", and "Lonely Street", which would have been played after that, are not included. Such a large-scale recording stop is rare for Millard, and some trouble may have occurred on site... In any case, although the cause is unknown, it was incomplete and permanent preservation was not expected. However, even though it is incomplete, there is plenty of repertoire that could not be heard on the previous work "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977". Let's organize it by comparing it here. Towed to Darkness (5 songs) Point of Know Return / Paradox / Dust in the Wind / Portrait (He Knew) / Sparks of the Tempest (★) Others (7 songs) Eternal Prelude: Miracles Out of Nowhere (★) / Carry on Wayward Son / Magnum Opus Early songs: Down the Road (★) / Journey from Mariabronn (*) / Mysteries & Mayhem (*) / Bringing It Back (★*) *Note: "★" marks songs that cannot be heard on the official "TWO FOR THE SHOW (original version)". "*" marks songs that were not on Millard's sister work "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977". I regret the recording stop in the middle. If the complete recording had been realized, it would be an unquestionably superb live album. This is a superb sequel live album that we highly recommend to those who have experienced "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977" and those who already own THIN LIZZY's "L.A. FORUM 1978". This is a superb audience recording of the "August 16, 1978 Inglewood performance". The original master of the absolute master Mike Millard, this is the main act version of the same day and venue as THIN LIZZY's masterpiece "L.A. FORUM 1978". With the same superb sound as the THIN LIZZY version, you can also enjoy "Journey From Mariabronn" and "Bringing It Back", which were not available on KANSAS' masterpiece "LONG BEACH ARENA 1977".
