The footage included here is a precious multi-camera pro shot of six songs from their first performance in Japan, and three takes of "Exciter," which they appeared on TV for promotion. Both were recorded in the best version with a significant reduction in the hiss noise that had been difficult to hear until now, making this the best one in terms of both memory and record. This work begins with a time-honored subtitle. In the distant view of the stage where "The Great Gate of Kiev" resonates, the backs of the members appear in the smoke. And Glenn Tipton turns around with the intro riff of "Exciter"! Who would have thought that the opening scene, which has now become legendary, could be seen in a pro shot. Furthermore, Rob, illuminated by the light as he begins to sing, is dressed like a "prince" in a white outfit. Who would have imagined that this British gentleman would become a "metal god" wrapped in leather and studs? JUDAS PRIEST at the time looked elegant, but the explosive sound was already as sharp as a razor. The sharpness of the twin riffs and the many and fast-paced beats of Les Binks leave a strong 70s British flavor while also giving a glimpse into the life of the later metal god. And above all, Rob's thunderous vocals are amazing! The tension and beauty of his young voice are no problem even in the golden age of the 80s! The vocals were replaced in "PRIEST IN THE EAST", which captured his second visit to Japan, but this is his true live voice. In particular, the ultrasonic shout at the end of "Exciter" is a must-listen. The selection of songs can be said to be the video version of "PRIEST IN THE EAST", including "Exciter", "Diamonds And Rust (this song is limited to the rock version!)", and "Starbreaker", but among them, the rare "White Heat, Red Hot" and "Beyond The Realms Of Death" are delicious. In particular, the latter is a famous scene that can only be seen in a multi-camera pro shot with Rob singing in a red costume, which is truly fantastic and has a perfect lighting effect. Following the live performance is a promotional TV appearance. Three mime scenes of "Exiter" are included. The subtitles, such as "JUDAS PRIEST...! A group called 'Judas Followers'" and "Five young people risking their lives to bring back British rock in the 80s!!", are the best, and give a sense of the era. The third take is a video from the recently released "National 11pm", but this is a rebroadcast of the first take. Although the costumes are the "prince" version from their first visit to Japan, the back cover of "KILLNG MACHINE" is also shown, so it seems to be the broadcast from their second visit in 1979. Both are valuable records and musically fulfilling. However, more than that, it is a shining piece of entertainment that carries the scent of the era. It has been 34 years since Japan and JUDAS PRIEST first encountered each other. Please watch this memorial DVD to show your gratitude and respect for their career of loving Japanese metal fans for a long time. Live at Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, Japan 31st July 1978 PRO-SHOT 1.
