Journey finally reached their heyday in 1981, when they released their new album "ESCAPE" produced by Jonathan Cain, who replaced Gregg Rolie as the keyboardist. This DVD features a complete recording of the second day's live performance at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall from their third tour of Japan in 1981, recorded in high-quality professional shot footage for about 1 hour and 38 minutes. The video master is the same as the previously released "LINE OF FIRE" (now sold out and out of print), but the sound quality and sound pressure have been improved, and there is no sound cut at 2:40 of the second song, Line Of Fire, which was previously released. The footage recorded on "LINE OF DEPARTURE", which recorded the 1980 Tokyo performance released at the same time, is of high quality as a bootleg, but this 1981 Tokyo footage is even higher quality, and is of a level that can be used as official material. Steve Perry's relaxed singing and Neal Schon's versatile technical guitar playing are worth listening to in every song. Not only the songs from "Escape," but also the instrumental "When The Love Has Gone" from the movie "After Dreams, Dreams" and "Turn Around In Tokyo" by the Babys featuring Jonathan are played, making this a valuable record of this time of year. And what is surprising is the high quality of the video and sound, and if the original master exists and it is officially released, it will surely become a famous rock live video that will remain in rock history. The magnificent band ensemble with the five members united is a masterpiece, and Steve Smith's brilliant playing will have everyone glued to the screen. Although the songs are more melodic and pop-oriented, Journey is a complete rock band at this time, and you can experience the overwhelming excitement in every part. The audience seats are shown many times in "Any Way You Want It," and it has a very early 80s feel to it, which is very good, and we who watch it will be filled with nostalgia. This is a perfect piece that is sure to become the video title that represents this year. Live at Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, Japan 31st July 1981 PRO-SHOT(UPGRADE) 1. Where Were You 2.
