Joni Mitchell collapsed from a brain aneurysm in 2015, but survived, but her opportunities to appear in public have drastically decreased. Three years later, she made an appearance at her 75th birthday event, but she barely spoke a word, which reminded us that she was still suffering from the aftereffects. However, in 2020, she was interviewed by the media and explained her current situation, saying that she was working hard on wise rehabilitation, and that although she still had trouble walking, she was able to speak... and so on. And last year, when she released her archive, she sent a message on SNS and appeared remotely in an interview with a music producer, showing her amazing recovery. If Joni, who had difficulty speaking at one point, has recovered to that extent, all that remains is to pray for her health and not to push herself too hard. That was enough... fans around the world hoped, but when she made a literal surprise appearance at the Newport Folk Festival in July, voices of surprise spread around the world. This appearance was called "Joni Jam", and musicians who specialize in acoustic sounds such as Brandi Carlile and members of Mumford & Sons all came out to support Joni's comeback. Thankfully, the entire day was caught on video taken from the audience, and the quality of the video and sound was amazing. It was a double surprise, as it captured Joni's expressions and singing voice in a very dignified manner and in near perfect condition. In the opening song "Carey", Joni started singing carefully on her first stage in a long time, but she quickly regained her rhythm and started singing more and more with enthusiasm. It was a blessing that she had survived and was even able to talk, but who would have thought that the day would come when she would sing so happily again! However, Joni's recovery did not stop there. In "Just Like This Train", she even stood up and held an open-tuned electric guitar, reminiscent of her old days! This was also surprising, as she was once said to be unable to play the guitar. Two of Joni's favorite oldies were also featured, and Joni told an episode with Tim Hardin during "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," which she had also sung on previous stages (this scene was also very moving!), and the audience was excited during "Love Potion #9." The highlight was "Both Sides Now." Brandi Carlile was singing while holding back her tears next to Joni, who was singing so confidently, and Wynonna Judd, who was singing behind Joni, was in tears (she was fixing her makeup while singing lol). The truly moving scene was captured at a great angle. Afterwards, three professional shot videos were released on the event's YouTube account, so we have also included those. In "Just Like This Train," Joni's incredibly dignified guitar playing is captured in even greater detail, and the excitement of "Big Yellow Taxi" and Joni's singing are also perfect. However, in "Both Sides Now," the surroundings are not so well captured in the video, and the video from the audience is overwhelmingly more moving. It may be said that this is a video that goes beyond professional shots. Live at Fort Adams State Park, Newport, RI, USA 24th July 2022 AMAZING SHOT/PRO-SHOT (80:20) Audience Video 1. Intro 2.
