THIN LIZZY reunited in 1999 to carry on the legacy of the late Phil Lynott, led by John Sykes. A masterpiece shot that can be called the video version of his only work "ONE NIGHT ONLY" is now available. This work was filmed at the Helsinki performance on December 16, 1999. This is the super spectacular audience shot. THIN LIZZY is currently active (sporadically) in parallel with BLACK STAR RIDERS, but Sykes led the group from 1994 to 2009. This is also a good opportunity, so let's look back at the scale of our activities over the past 16 years and check out the show's position.・1994 (8 performances in Japan) ・1995 (1 performance in the UK) ・1996 (3 performances in the UK) ・1997 (4 performances in the United States) ・1998 (8 performances in Europe) ・1999 (24 performances in Europe) ←★ Coco★・2000 (37 performances in Europe), 2001 (9 performances in the US), 2002 (1 performance in Norway + 6 performances in the US), 2003 (39 performances in Europe + 6 performances in the US), 2004 (3 performances in Europe + 35 performances in North America), 2005 (6 performances in the UK), 2006 (18 performances in Europe + 1 performance in the US), 2007 (38 performances in Europe), 2008 (36 performances in Europe), 2009 (2 performances in Europe). 16 years of "Sykes LIZZY". There are years like 1995 when they only appear on stage once, and there are times like 2003/2004 when they tour regularly. In 1999, when this work was filmed, they toured Europe on a medium-sized tour, and their only official work, ONE NIGHT ONLY, was also produced. Although the detailed recording date of “ONE NIGHT ONLY” is not known, the Helsinki performance of this work was the 23rd and final concert of the tour. This work recorded at such a show is truly a superb view with a "super" rating. Although it was filmed with a single camera from the rear of the venue, the vantage point was unnaturally high, passing far above the arena seats on the first floor and looking directly at the stage. Not only is there no obstruction, but you're at almost the same eye level as the other members. And a great sense of stability. It doesn't seem like the venue was set up, but even when zooming in so boldly that each member's waist-up fills the screen, the screen is so crisp that it's hard to believe we live in an era without camera shake prevention. Considering the type of shot, it can only be called an "audience shot," but its worth is not that of a so-called audience shot. Rather, the visuals are so beautiful that it makes you think that they were filmed by someone involved in the band for material purposes (although the actual location is unknown). What is depicted in such a superb view is a full show that is truly the video version of ONE NIGHT ONLY. The official live album was about 71 minutes, perhaps because it fit on one CD, but this work was shot all at once and was about 92 minutes. Of course, they will also perform repertoire that cannot be heard on the official live album. Let's compare and organize them here.・Nightlife: Still In Love With You ・Fighting!!: Suicide/Rosalie ・Jailbreak: Jailbreak/Emerald (★)/Cowboy Song/The Boys Are Back In Town ・Heron Johnny: Don't Believe A Word/Massacre ( ★)・Bad Reputation・Live & Dangerous: Are You Ready?・Black Rose: Waiting For An Alibi/Black Rose・Thunder & Lightning: Cold Sweat/The Sun Goes Down *Note: Marked with “★” is a song that cannot be heard on the official version of "ONE NIGHT ONLY". ...and it looks like this. Although the Snowy White era is omitted, this is a delicious set that covers a wide range of famous songs from the Twin era. You can enjoy THIN LIZZY's "Moving Greatest Hits" just by playing it in your room without a maniac perspective. And the performance that spells out the famous songs is also hot. Scott Gorham plays with more force than in the 80's, and his combination with the music has also improved. Tommy Aldridge's power drumming always feels more like WHITESNAKE than THIN LIZZY (bitter smile), but his compatibility with Marco Mendoza is very good. Three years after the release of this work, all of them will be recruited into the reorganized WHITESNAKE, which is a convincing feat. John Sykes left the reunion THIN LIZZY and thought he was going to go back to solo, but he went silent. This is a video work that allows you to enjoy a full show from when he was still active. Originally, I would have liked to have not only “ONE NIGHT ONLY” but also a professional shot video work, but this work is the best one that will heal that thirst. A spectacular video that allows you to experience the reorganization era centered on John Sykes from a special seat. This is an audience shot of "December 16, 1999 Helsinki performance". From the back of the venue, I passed far above the arena seats on the first floor and looked directly at the stage. Not only is there no obstruction, but it's wonderful that you're almost at the same eye level as the members, and it feels as if it was taken by someone involved for reference purposes. Although it is the same tour as the official live album “ONE NIGHT ONLY”, you can also witness a delicious full show of “Emerald” and “Massacre” that cannot be heard on the official version.
