PAGE & PLANT's Japan tour, where the two legendary people showed us the "Dream of the Airship" for the first time in 24 years. The best video of that performance has been decided to be released. This work contains the "February 8, 1996: Nippon Budokan" performance. There is a rush of PAGE & PLANT releases this week, so let's start by looking at the schedule for their visit to Japan. ・February 5: Nippon Budokan ・February 6: Nippon Budokan 《February 7: Off》 ・February 8: Nippon Budokan [This work] ・February 9: Nippon Budokan 《February 10-11: Off》 ・February 12: Nippon Budokan ・February 13: Nippon Budokan 《February 14: Travel & Off》 ・February 15-20: Osaka / Nagoya / Fukuoka (4 performances) That's a total of 10 performances. I've summarized the local performances, but the six consecutive performances at Nippon Budokan are quite impressive. This work is the third day. This week's gift also includes "BUDOKAN 1996 2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO" on the second day, but it was a concert with a one-day break. The biggest point of this work is the superb quality. It was shot by the same master as "2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO", and this one is just as good. It was shot from the stand seats diagonally to the left of the stage (the plant side), but there is still zero shadow of the audience, probably from the front seat. It is a superb viewpoint that looks directly at the stage without any obstructions. And if the shooting technique that uses a lot of intense zoom like a professional shot and shows off with smooth scrolling without camera shake is the same as "2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO", the visual beauty of only two people occupying the screen is the same. This work is also a masterpiece that can only be described as "abnormal quality". The quality is so similar to "2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO", but it is the sound that could even surpass that masterpiece. There is no doubt that it was recorded by microphone because of the vividness of the applause (the vividness of the audience who blurts out "It's here!" at the opening scene), but the musical sound is so beautiful that it can only be thought of as a sound board. Of course, "2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO" is also superb, and although the basic quality is the same as this work, there was a very slight contact noise in the left channel. This work does not even have that, and the glossy and melting beauty runs through the whole work. A show drawn with such quality is a night for connoisseurs. "2ND NIGHT: THE VIDEO" was a great performance among the great performances recognized by maniacs, but this one is full of scenes that tickle the hearts of maniacs. First of all, the highlight is "When The Levee Breaks" which was only performed on this day in Japan. To be honest, it is not very well done, and it is understandable why it was not performed on other days, but this rarity is hard to throw away. Even more interesting is the miss scene. In "The Rain Song", Paige, who was sitting on a chair, made a big laugh when he missed the intro. He stops playing, but the mood is so sweet that the audience is happy and excited. Of course, it's not that the performance is bad, but when he thinks it over and starts again, the enchanting phrases take over the octagonal venue, and he is enveloped in a beautiful world that makes you forget to breathe. While remaining faithful to the original, the orchestra plays the Mellotron part, and the "beauty" is layered on top of one another. Another must-see mistake is "Tea For One". The performance also stops at the intro, and the large audience laughs. Plant also says with a wry smile, "It's a rehearsal for a bootleg." Even Plant can't just talk about other people. In the main set, he looks very cool with his toned body wrapped in a black tank top and leather pants, but when he comes back for the encore, his white sweatshirt looks strangely uncool. Then, while stirring up the audience with a playful expression (the quality is so clear that it's even visible!), he launches into "Black Dog"! It's a style that doesn't really suit that sexy vocal. After the main live performance, bonus footage is also included. It is a weather forecast and tour commercial on "Wanton Song" on the first day of the tour, "February 5th". Despite the precious multi-camera professional shot, for some reason the weather forecast... This is a masterpiece that makes "Japan in 1996" smell great in this fierce gap. I'm not sure if I'm recommending it or not, but it's just that there are some funny highlights. The main part of the show continues from the second day, which was a great performance, and you can enjoy plenty of delicious songs such as "Celebration Day", "The Song Remains the Same", and "What Is And What Should Never Be" that were not performed the day before. A "ticklish" masterpiece that will poke at the hearts of enthusiasts with its superb quality. Please enjoy it to your heart's content. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 8th February 1996 (132:26) 1.
