PAGE & PLANT brought the "Dream of the Airship" to Japan for the first time in 24 years. The best video of the show is now available. This work includes the "February 6, 1996: Nippon Budokan" performance. All of the Tokyo performances at this time were also at Nippon Budokan. First, let's check the schedule for their visit to Japan. February 5: Nippon Budokan February 6: Nippon Budokan [This work] February 7: Off February 8: Nippon Budokan February 9: Nippon Budokan February 10-11: Off February 12: Nippon Budokan February 13: Nippon Budokan February 14: Travel & Off February 15-20: Osaka / Nagoya / Fukuoka (4 performances) Although the regional performances were omitted, there were a total of 10 performances. Nippon Budokan was a 2-day consecutive x 3-section 6-performance show. This work is the Tuesday performance on the second day. The biggest point of this work is the intense performance and the equally fierce quality. It is an audience shot taken from a slightly right side of the stage (closer to Paige), but the angle, image quality, and sound quality are all excellent. First of all, the angle. I am looking directly at the stage from the stand seats, but there is no shadow of the audience, perhaps at the very front. On the contrary, the arena seats are not even visible, and the two main characters are zoomed in intensely. Moreover, the sense of stability is abnormal, and it is as if it is a single angle of a professional shot, and the two people occupy the entire screen. Even if you zoom in that much, the beautiful image quality is also amazing. There is no doubt that it is a video shoot of the era, but the faint light of the lighting makes the two people stand out, and Plant's blonde shines divinely. When you zoom in to the maximum, you can clearly see even the facial expressions. The sound that suits the scene is also of an extraordinary dimension. Although it can be determined from the vivid applause that it is a microphone recording, once the performance begins and the audience starts listening, it almost seems like a sound board. A solid core that barely feels the sound of the venue, fine details, and yet a natural balance.... The only flaw is that there is very rare contact noise in the left channel, but the basic quality is too high, making it a superb sound. The show depicted with such quality is also amazing. After all, it is a masterpiece among masterpieces, which is also called the "tour best" among enthusiasts. It is a mind-blowing composition that starts with the sudden "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You", but the heat that is brewing increases endlessly and is extremely dramatic. The stiffness seen the day before (the first day of the tour) is gone, and the supple vocals and the bold guitar are in top form. The good performance continues throughout the entire show, from "Dancing Days" performed with THE EGYPTIAN PHARAHOS and "In The Evening" which is the first appearance in Japan, to the climax that piles on "Kashmir". Even more impressive is the encore. The day was well-served, with the two main performers performing "Tangerine" followed by a huge medley of "Whole Lotta Love / In The Light / Break On Through / Dazed and Confused". Page and Plant embraced each other playfully in a grand finale, but it wasn't over yet. The second encore was "Rock and Roll"! Plant here sang in a way reminiscent of 1971, making the audience worry, "There are still days left?" It was a truly fulfilling show that said, "This is a great performance!" A great performance that even enthusiasts would recognize, depicted with extremely excellent quality. That is the true nature of this work. A rare masterpiece video of the Japanese performance... no, even in the entire history of PAGE & PLANT. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 6th February 1996 (115:01) 1. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 2.
