Page Plant's 1998 Las Vegas performance, which has appeared in recent years, was recorded with video, so even though both the sound source and the video were leaked, sadly it has hardly been discussed by enthusiasts. Recently, a file of this soundboard has appeared on a major torrent site, but despite the 1998 soundboard recording, the pitch is fast, the disc division is strange, and the encore cheers and cheers after the performance are missing. The final blow is a version where the sound quality itself is degraded. In particular, the fact that there were problems with both pitch and sound quality suggests that this was a version that had been dubbed via video to VHS many times. However, for this release, an overseas enthusiast provided a stereo soundboard DAT master of a different dimension. The sound quality without degradation without analog dubbing like the previous one was so vivid that it seemed like it could be officially released as it is. With a soundboard of this quality, it is only natural that it would be released. Speaking of the stereo soundboard of Plant Page in 1998, the best-selling "SHEPHERDS BUSH 1998 MULTITRACK MASTER" was a standard in recent years, as it recorded the warm-up before the start of the tour on a perfect stereo soundboard. However, this time, half a year after Shepherd's Bush, it is a surprising upgrade that documents the heat of the performance in the middle of the tour with the best stereo soundboard. However, it seems that the original sound source itself that leaked in the 2010s has been overlooked, and most people may be touched for the first time by this highest sound quality version. Above all, it is undeniable that the 1998 Page Plant tour was released only at the beginning of the tour because of the priority on topicality, and it was difficult to convey the original charm of this tour. In fact, the ethnic music flavor that was present in the 1995 and 1996 tours has been wiped out, and the fact that it gave off a rock sound throughout the entire tour should be reevaluated now. Even so, the performance in Las Vegas is super hot. Of course, it's because half a year has passed since the start of the tour, but the experience of the large-scale tour before that is reflected beautifully. Jimmy in particular was in top form, and it was hard to tell at the time that he was playing so much. His playing style, such as "No Quarter", is reminiscent of ZEP 1975 to 1977, and Robert sang very comfortably next to Jimmy, who was in top form. What is particularly noteworthy is the way the songs from the album "WALKING INTO CLARKSDALE", which imprinted their aggressive rock attitude, have evolved beautifully through repeated live performances. In particular, the performance of the album title song and "When the World Was Young" were truly wonderful, and when you hear the free-flowing drums of Jimmy and Michael Lee, who are playing so much, you will definitely feel fresh and wonder if they have been performing so well. And as for "How Many More Times", which was the highlight of this tour, it was reminiscent of 1969 and 1970, but it was a truly wonderful 1998 version. The medley of this performance to "Down By The Seaside" is also very good. The sound quality is perfect, so you can easily hear the high tension of the performance, including Jimmy's playing, which was at its peak six months after the start of the tour. Lee's drums are not only ZEP classics, but also the songs from "WALKING INTO CLARKSDALE" are finally showing their brilliance, which is a big attraction of this tour. And Robert, whose voice was not so sharp at the beginning of the tour, is now at full throttle. Unlike 1995 and 1996, which were centered on past repertoire, this tour was a tour with a new studio album, so Jimmy and Robert were able to push the stage to their full potential. This is the best stereo sound board that beautifully recorded the climax of the stage. And it's not just the sound quality that's great.
