Following 1999's "WHO ELSE!", Jeff Beck released his next studio album "YOU HAD IT COMING" in early 2001 in a short period of time. In conjunction with the release of the album, a large-scale North American tour will begin in February, and this edition includes performances from the US tour in February, including performances in Seattle on February 15th and San Francisco on the 21st. This is a must-have 4-disc title for fans that has appeared in recent years and is completely recorded with ultra-high quality audience recording. The "YOU HAD IT COMING" tour held a performance in Japan in December of the previous year, and is nostalgic for Japanese fans. The side guitar is Jennifer Batten, the bass is Randy Hope Taylor, but the drums are replaced by Andy Gangadeen from Steve Alexander on the 1999 tour. The band's ensemble is at its peak as they have already completed a large tour in Japan. You can enjoy a stable and dynamic performance from beginning to end. First of all, the sound quality. Seattle is recorded on Discs 1 & 2, but it is recorded with the highest sound quality that makes you feel as if you are listening to an official live performance. According to the record, it is a DAT recording, and there is no cold feeling that comes with digital recording in recent years, and it has a natural and warm feel, but the overall sound is similar to the stage with a dry texture. In addition to the guitar, the sounds of the rhythm section of bass and drums are recorded with amazing clarity and are very impressive. It is a super take that is sure to leave fans stunned not only by the wonderful performance, but also by the quality of the sound! ! (The fact that the hi-hats and other parts can be heard separately suggests that the sound source was captured at a position quite close to the stage (close to the left side of the PA?).) Instead, discs 3 and 4 contain the San Francisco performance 6 days later. Recorded. This is another great recording. It is a good audience recording that captures a different texture from the Seattle performance, and the kick sound of the bass drum is slightly louder, but the overall sound image itself is high quality sound that is generally centered and the performance is captured sufficiently close. Audience noise sometimes comes in during the performance, but the performance is wonderful and you will be drawn into it as you listen, forgetting such trivial things and listening intently. Although the sound has a milder texture, the overall balance is better than the Seattle one, and I think this one is better overall in terms of sound. The whole thing is solid, the sound attack is not sarcastic, and although the texture is completely different from Seattle (this is also a DAT recording, the microphone equipment and taper are different, so is it natural?), the show is full of power with an amazing sound. You can enjoy it. A 4-disc set of one of the most famous sound sources from the North American tour in February 2001. It's the best sound. This is a highly recommended piece! !
