The 2018 Jeff Beck features female cellist Vanessa Freeburn Smith. Introducing a superb live album that conveys its true value. Jeff is currently on a break after completing all of his scheduled dates in 2018. At our store, we have been reporting on Jeff's latest trends with various live albums/videos since the start of the tour. Although all of them were masterpieces of great quality, they did not reach the super definitive edition that ``this is the symbol of 2018''. However, now that the tour has ended, enthusiasts from all over the world are reviewing the sound sources and are competing to be number one. This work is the conclusion drawn by such enthusiasts. It is a super superb audience recording that vacuum packs “2018’s latest Jeff”. [Full-scale performances only a few times] What is recorded in this work is “July 26, 2018 Austin performance”. This is an act of the joint tour “STARS ALIGN TOUR” with Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson. First of all, let’s check the show’s position among the 2018 tour dates when the latest Jeff appeared publicly. ・June 8th - July 9th: Europe (19 performances) 《STARS ALIGN TOUR》 ・July 18th - August 26th: North America (27 performances) ←★Here★ Above, a total of 46 performances. The Austin performance of this work was the 7th concert in “North America”. The European leg in early summer was a solo tour, and the North American leg in midsummer was “STARS ALIGN TOUR”, but not all performances were couplings. Paul Rodgers did not participate in several performances (less than 10 performances). Jeff had a long time that day, and it became a full-scale show. And, this work was also one of such full shows. [The ultimate sound depicting the latest ensemble] I'm happy with such a long show, but the biggest point is the overwhelming sound quality. We have introduced many masterpiece live albums so far, but to be honest, this work is on a different level. The sound that uses the famous "Schoeps MK4", which is used by masters around the world, is fiercely direct, bold, and yet extremely lustrous. I can't feel the distance at all, and even if I listen carefully with headphones, I can't hear the echoes of the venue, but that doesn't mean it's much more beautiful than just exposing the output sound. Even the slight fluctuation of the guitar's arming can be felt vividly, and the drums draw a beautiful mountain from the rise of a single bass drum to the end of the sound. And the cello of the new Miss Vanessa. At times, they support Jeff's mischievous guitar in a sexy way, and at other times, they solemnly intertwine, but when it comes to the vividness of their lines and the depth of their vibe... The beauty of sound. It's the sound of art. This vividness and sexiness is “like an official work” rather than a sound board. Moreover, it's natural. Although it is a beautiful sound that has been refined to the level of an official product, the sound does not feel artificial, and has a realism that makes you think it is the actual scene. In terms of audio, it is a rare masterpiece recording that has the dignity of a one-shot recording while being of official grade. It is such an outstanding sound, but it is not a recording that has been recorded continuously. In fact, the original sound that appeared online was a little biased toward bass, and I had to adjust the volume of the recording after the performance started. Furthermore, the sound pressure balance between the left and right sides was slightly unnatural, and the original clarity was not fully utilized. In total, the performance sounded a little recessed. Therefore, this work has been meticulously remastered to bring out the full potential of the original sound. Without changing the original natural feel, we carefully adjusted the range, stereo feel, and changing volume. As a result, the sense of stability and natural balance are far improved. The performance felt very front, and we achieved a super beautiful sound that allows you to fully enjoy the "official class elegance" that the recording itself had. [A passionate performance that is suitable for the ultimate sound] A passionate performance in 2018 that is depicted with such an ultimate sound. Since they toured Europe first, they were able to perform well with the ensemble, and after reorganizing in North America, they had already warmed up after seven performances. Furthermore, the main part of the tour was a short coupling set, so there was no fatigue. Jeff's guitar, which is important, is also crisp, but the whole band is in great shape. The tremendous drumming of Vinnie Colaiuta that roars in “Stratus” and the bass of Rhonda Smith who battles with the drums in “Just for Fun” are also amazingly dynamic. As if other performances had been shortened for this work, it runs through a full set of about 93 minutes in perfect conditions. Five songs were added from the short version: "Star Cycle," "A Change Is Gonna Come," "You Never Know," "Blue Wind," and "Corpus Christi Carol." It is the same set as “WOLF TRAP 2018 (Uxbridge 883)” which was released the other day and has become very popular, but it is even more wonderful when depicted with the ultimate sound. Although the real enthusiasm of the scene is absorbed, there is no conversation during the performance, and Matomo can bask in the enthusiasm of the performance that is being cultivated. The best sound on the tour, a long set, and an enthusiastic performance... It is a super live album that is suitable to symbolize “Jeff Beck in 2018”. Will you continue with the current new ensemble, or will you officially leave it as a studio or live album? That's still unknown at this stage, but even if it doesn't happen, this work will still exist. The latest version of Jeff Beck has been reborn in a more grandiose, more solemn, and more romantic style with the addition of cello.
