Jeff Beck came to Japan for the first time in 10 years in 1999 with "WHO ELSE!". The Japan tour shook the whole of Japan, and the best live album is now available. This masterpiece album includes the "May 29, 1999 ZEPP OSAKA performance". The TV broadcast of the Tokyo International Forum is also famous from this tour, but this work is a superb album that is more than that big classic. First, let's check the overview from the tour schedule. ・May 23: Tokyo Bay NK Hall ・May 25: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall "BLAST FROM THE EAST" ・May 26: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall ・May 28: Fukuoka Civic Hall ・May 29: ZEPP OSAKA [This work] ・May 30: Osaka Festival Hall ・May 31: Tokyo International Forum ・June 2: Tokyo International Forum ★ TV broadcast ・June 3: Tokyo International Forum All 9 performances. The International Forum television broadcast was the eighth performance, but this work is an audience album containing the fifth performance, which is exactly in the middle. Why is this work a masterpiece? Of course, part of the reason is the transcendent sound quality, but even more than that is the content of the performance. The famous television broadcast is often remembered as a masterpiece, but in fact the performance itself was not the peak. At that time, there were some enthusiasts who conquered all the performances, partly because it was the first time in 10 years, and "The professional shots were great, but there were better days" became a legend. Yes, as you can imagine. The ZEPP OSAKA performance where this work was recorded was the top performance that was praised as the best performance among the best performances. Let's go into a little more detail. In fact, this work was not the only one at the peak. At that time, reviews of all the performances were published in specialized magazines, but there were two candidates for the best performance. One was "May 25: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall" on the second day of the tour, and the other was the ZEPP OSAKA performance. We have delivered the superb recording of the Kanagawa Prefectural Hall performance, "BLAST FROM THE EAST", but that masterpiece is, so to speak, the "East's masterpiece". This work is the "West's masterpiece" in comparison. There have been three recordings of this live performance at ZEPP OSAKA, and this work was the best of them all. It is a work by one of the best known masters in Osaka in the 1990s. Our shop has made the master collection into CD from the original DAT, and has delivered masterpieces such as David Bowie's "A REALITY IN OSAKA: THE LAST CONCERT IN JAPAN", Prince's "ONE NITE ALONE IN OSAKA", KANSAS's "OSAKA 2001", RAINBOW's "OSAKA 1995 1ST NIGHT", and Richie Sambora's "UNDISCOVERED SOUL IN OSAKA". This work is not only the latest in the series, but also an ultra-excellent sound that stands out in the collection of masters. In fact, even in the specialist magazines at the time, it was a famous recording that was praised as "definitely the best sound," "the bass resonates as well as the venue," and "it's nice to be able to hear the best performances with high sound quality," but this work re-releases such a vertex recording from the original DAT with the latest and meticulous mastering. It is the ultimate board that pulls up the top of the famous recording. In fact, the sound of this work is so wonderful that words cannot be found. It is a very thick and straight-forward quality that is worthy of being called "like a sound board," but if you simply imagine a sound board, it would be disrespectful to this famous recording. The glossy "ringing" and the breathing sense that resides in all of Jeff's beautiful techniques are vivid details. Even the sighs of the audience who witnessed the tone are beautiful... Of course, not only Jeff, but also the rhythm section of Randy Hope Taylor & Steve Alexander are flexible, and the twin with the skilled Jennifer Batten is also beautiful. The difference in recording method such as "audience or sound board" is no longer an issue, and even if you ignore the content of the performance, a beautiful world that can only be said to be "beyond TV broadcasting" spreads. The performance among the masterpieces depicted by that sound is also wonderful. It is too wonderful to put into words. Of course, if you want to talk about it, there are too many to mention, such as "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" that inspires with a perfect ending while listening to the phrases of only the left hand, "Angel (Footsteps)" with its exquisite tapping and well-timed performance, and "Big Block" where the phrase of "Layla" peeks out. However, no matter how many such scenes I write, it is impossible to convey the greatness of this. This dynamism, this sharpness, this flash of inspiration. The only way to see the brilliant performances where everything shines is to actually listen to this work... A masterpiece of music that anyone who went to the 1999 site, as well as those who did not, should definitely touch. The classic TV broadcast was also wonderful, but Jeff's peak in 1999 was not like that. "BLAST FROM THE EAST" and this work. This completes the masterpieces of the East and West. If you have listened to that masterpiece, you have already ordered it, but if you have not experienced it, please touch this work first. You will definitely not be able to avoid listening to "BLAST FROM THE EAST". The 1999 JEFF BECK GROUP was so wonderful that it could not be contained by just one performance. A vertex recording that conveys its true value. Live at Zepp Osaka, Osaka, Japan 29th May 1999 ULTIMATE SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (48:32) 1. What Mama Said 2. Psycho Sam 3.
