From the 1978 Japan tour where the collaboration with Stanley Clarke was a hot topic, the Kurashiki performance on November 23rd, the third day of the tour, was recorded in high quality audience recording. This is a new sound source that has been talked about on the Internet, which has been digitized directly from the master of the recorder. Although the sound image is a little small, the high range is also beautifully produced, the grain of the sound is very good, the separation is also excellent, and you can clearly hear each and every bass note of Stanley as well as Jeff's guitar. There is a slight distance in the sound and the loudness and directness are not so much, but there is no cracking or deterioration in the sound, there is a sense of stability, and you can hear the delicate playing and expression of each member as if you were holding it in your hands, and you can enjoy the whole picture of the show with sufficient quality. In particular, the quiet fusion touch parts are truly magnificent. There is almost no hiss noise, and it is a masterpiece recording title that is sure to make you engrossed in listening to every single sound of the band's delicate playing. There were limited recordings on this day, and "Kurashiki Jam '78" was the only recording of this performance, but there was no bass cracking like in this previous release, and it is very easy to listen to. In the previous release, there was a tape change cut in the middle of Lopsy Lu, but this disc contains the entire concert, including this song, uncut. It is likely that the 1978 Japan tour had three local performances booked at the beginning of the tour, Mito (11/20), Kanazawa (11/22), and Kurashiki (11/23) on this day, and these were live performances that also served as rehearsals. It is speculated that the sound was solidified at this live, and then they went on to perform in cities, including Osaka (2 performances), Nagoya, Kokura, and the Tokyo Budokan 3 Days. One of the highlights is Hot Rock, which falls off the set after the first day in Osaka. The only performance in Kurashiki is where Diamond Dust is played after Scatterbrain / Drums Solo throughout the entire schedule. A new recording of the 1978 Japan tour that appeared in 2016.
