A truly unquestionable super high quality sound board has arrived! ! On October 9, 1999, the first day performance at London Shepherd's Bush Empire, which was directly transferred from a famous taper living in the UK familiar with Clapton, was recorded directly from the DAT master, which recorded it completely with super high quality sound. As the taper commented, "I think this is the best recording of Beck in 1999," the ultra high quality sound never experienced before pops out into the speakers. (It seems that the microphone was fixed about 2 inches (5 cm) from the PA speaker and recorded.) Several superb sound quality boards were released from the Japanese performance in May 1999, including Yokohama (5/25), but the sound of this board is, how should I put it, a sound of another dimension. I think this is the result of favorable conditions such as the small size of the venue, the lack of an audience around, the microphone being recorded unusually close to the speaker, the high performance of the microphone, and the optimal recording level. It's like listening to a direct recording from a club, but you can definitely feel the good characteristics of the microphone, making this a best of the best recording in every sense. Naturally, the sound is better in the second half of the show when the venue sound has solidified than at the beginning, so if you're wondering "What does it sound like?", please check out Disc 2. Everyone will be stunned and listen to the ball of sound that you've never heard before of the bass sound of You Never Know. The intertwining with Jeff's guitar, which cuts into it in a jamming style, is spectacular. Rice Pudding (the second half after it becomes free form is amazing) and Sling Shot, which were not played in Japan on the 1999 tour, are fresh to hear with this high sound quality, even though they were played at overseas performances. The sound quality is great and the performance is really amazing. After touring for seven months since March of that year, the band returned to their home of London, England, for the first day of the two-day London concert, which was the final show of their world tour. Naturally, the band's combination and ensemble reached their peak, and you could experience the ultimate performance of the 1999 lineup. This is a storm of things to listen to throughout the album. This is a special album that Beck fans would not be allowed to ignore. If you listen to it, you will understand at a glance that I am not exaggerating. Not only is the sound good, but the depth and scale of the sound are superb. This is the strongest and best album.
