It's been a year and four months since the last performance in Japan. The latest Jeff Beck, with the addition of a beautiful cellist, has started. The best video of that will be released. This work was filmed at the "June 9, 2018 Paris performance". This is the latest show that was just held the other day, but this work is a superb audience shot that contains all the songs. First of all, let's check the position of the show in the 2018 tour schedule to find out what Jeff is up to now. ・June 8-July 9: Europe (19 performances) ←★Here★ ・July 18-August 26: North America (27 performances) This is the total of 46 performances that have been announced so far. The Paris performance of this work is the second performance of the "Europe" tour, which is the beginning. There was no show in the first half of 2018, and this work will be the second stage this year. This work, which recorded such a start dash, is of excellent quality and was shot from the stand seats on the left side of the stage...probably. I'm sorry for suddenly becoming unreliable, but to be honest, I don't know the exact position. I think it's a stand seat from the angle I looked down, but there is nothing else to judge. There is no shadow of the front row, nor is there any arena seats, only a close-up of the stage. Is it a long-distance shot that makes the most of the latest equipment, or was it recorded with ease in front of the stage? I think it's probably the latter, but in any case, it's a spectacular view where only the stage occupies the field of vision. Even the camera work is wonderful. The zoom that comes closer and closer is full of Jeff's waist close-up. On the contrary, the wrinkles in Vinnie Colaiuta's shirt and his expression at the very back of the stage... no, no, at the closest, the trembling hi-hat fills the screen (why the hi-hat?) It gets so intense that it fills the screen (why the hi-hat?). Even if you scroll with that close-up, it's calm and stable. It's not a multi-camera, but it's as easy to see as a professional shot. Furthermore, the sound that matches the scene is amazing. The vivid cheers and sounds are like those of an audience, but the on-the-fly, direct core and detailed details are as vivid as a soundboard. In fact, it was so wonderful that we considered introducing a live album with just the audio (although we gave up because some of the songs faded). The "2018 JEFF BECK GROUP" witnessed in such quality is amazing! Last year, the combination with the female duo "BONES" was very fresh, but this year it has changed again. In addition to Vinnie, who returned after a long time, familiar faces such as Rhonda Smith and Jimmy Hall solidified the basics, and female cellist Vanessa Freeburn Smith has joined them. Vanessa is a cellist active in SONUS QUARTET in Los Angeles, which debuted in 2003. I am not familiar with her actual age, but the blonde youthful beauty that can be seen from this work is truly dazzling. Moreover, she is not just a stage flower. The ensemble with the cello is very cool. "Mna Na Heireann" and "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" make the sadness rise several times, "Stratus" has a heavy riff, and "Big Block" exudes a dark and heavy feeling like KING CRIMSON in the 1970s. The familiar songs are in a completely different sound world. Not only have the familiar songs been reborn, but new repertoire has also been introduced. The opening song is "Pull It" from "LOUD HAILER", and new material such as Otis Rush's cover "I have To Laugh", "Lonnie" and "Just For Fun" are also included. Last year's BONES was fresh but on the verge of incongruity, but this year it is fresh but authentic. Once again, we can hear the surprising evolution. After the main story, bonus footage is also included. This is an audience shot from the same Paris concert, but the camera is different, and it is a video taken from the front row under the stage in a super close-up. This is also a super high-grade image that will blow your mind. It is almost recorded from the camera pit, so it really looks like a one-camera professional shot. It is also a close-up like a specialized camera in charge of Jeff's hands, and even the nails on his fingertips and the veins that pop out are super clear. However, the sound does not reach the main part (the main part is too amazing), and there are only four songs, "Mna Na Heireann", "Little Wing", "Superstition", and "A Day In The Life". Jeff Beck in 2018 created a new ensemble again. This is a piece that allows you to witness the latest show in the finest quality. The equipment, technology, and music of Jeff's audience shooting are evolving without stopping. I have been surprised many times so far, but this work is the latest and most intense impact.
