A live album of a special show featuring luxurious guests is now available. Jeff is currently on tour with the new frontier “LOUD HAILER”, but this day is a little different. It was a special one-night gig celebrating the 50th anniversary of their career, held at the Hollywood Bowl on August 10, 2016. The highlight is the co-starring with gorgeous guests. The lineup included female singer Beth Hart, who has toured with us so far, Chicago blues stalwart Buddy Guy, ZZ TOP's Billy Gibbons, and AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler. For a special concert, the set is also special. We have previously reported on the latest tours at ``PORT CHESTER 2016'', ``MASHANTUCKET 2016'', and ``VIENNA 2016'', but those also feature a new song with the female duo BONES. In this work, we play three new songs that make use of Rosie Bones' female voice, but other than that, we play plenty of super famous songs that summarize his career. The repertoire is also fierce, but first, let's follow the flow of the show. Roughly speaking, the show consists of two parts. The first half looks back on his early career, and the second half features co-stars with special guests. First of all, it starts with the new song "The Revolution Will Be Televised", but after that, time suddenly goes back and it's time for Jeff's origin THE YARDBIRDS! The YARDBIRDS' ``Over Under Sideways Down'', ``Heart Full of Soul'', and ``For Your Love'' are played all at once. Next up, of course, is the first JEFF BECK GROUP. Starting with "Beck's Bolero", they continued with "Plynth (Water Down the Drain)" and "Morning Dew". The vocalist here is the familiar Jimmy Hall, but it's still delicious... Is it just the second season JBG or BBA? Just as I thought, time jumps to the fusion era. We played 5 songs from the repertoire of 3 great albums ``BLOW BY BLOW'', ``WIRED'', ``THERE & BACK'', ``Freeway Jam'', ``You Never Know'', ``Cause We've Ended as Lovers'', ``Blue Wind'', and ``Star Cycle''. Masu. They are all good at showing off their true potential, but this day was definitely special. My partner here is Jan Hammer! I'm happy just with the song selection, but that unique touch, intertwined with the latest Jeff, revives the atmosphere of the heyday. THE YARDBIRDS rush at the beginning is also valuable, but this part is the biggest point of this work. Once again, with the special “Big Block” in between, the atmosphere of the show suddenly changes to the second part (the show is not divided into sections). From here, the gorgeous guests will be replaced one after another, and they will perform together on various cover songs. Listing the guests in order of appearance: Beth Hart (1 song) → Buddy Guy (1 song) → 2 new songs → Billy Gibbons (2 songs) → Steven Tyler (2 songs) → Beatles cover → Beth Hart (1 song). The performance here was in a peaceful mood, enjoying the reunion with old friends, and Jeff seemed to be having a lot of fun playing along. Of course, not only the performance, but also the audience was excited by the gorgeous guests. Especially Steven Tyler's aura is amazing. As soon as he appeared, the room temperature in the venue seemed to suddenly rise by 2-3 degrees. It's full of the festive mood of the "50th anniversary" in a different sense from the beginning. The main set ends with the Beatles' "A Day in the Life," but the final encore is also a surprise. Featuring Beth Hart on vocals, they will perform ``Purple Rain,'' a song dedicated to Prince, who passed away suddenly. The covers so far have been relatively orthodox, even though they are related to the guests, but I never expected to be able to hear “Purple Rain” played by Jeff… Beth's trembling vocals are also wonderful, but that guitar solo is drawn with Jeff's first-class nuance. At the very end of the show, which had been in such a relaxed mood, I was expecting a moment that would give me goosebumps... Before my goosebumps subsided, the curtain came to a close... There was so much to listen to that I forgot something important. The quality of this work, which recorded such a special night, is also special. It is not “just like a sound board”, but a superb sound that “isn’t this a sound board!?” In fact, I was told by a source who knew the recording person that it was an audience, so there must be no doubt about it, but no matter how many times I listen to it, I can't believe it's a guest recording. The sound board also only sounds like an official quality product. However, this work is not completely flawless. Around "I'd Rather Go Blind" and "Let Me Love You Baby," there is a slight noise that sounds like radio reception noise. Coupled with the superb sound, it almost feels like IEMs recording. This is a masterpiece that completely records a "special night" with the highest quality sound that can only be thought of as a broadcast sound source. Looking back at the origins of THE YARDBIRDS, meeting Jan Hammer, and co-starring with gorgeous guests...a commemorative performance that is perfect for the anniversary.
