Janet Jackson set a record for the highest attendance at Tokyo Dome on her first visit to Japan in 1990. The highest peak original master of that symbolic video is now available. The symbolic video was shot at the "May 18, 1990: Tokyo Dome" performance. This is the multi-camera pro shot. Their first visit to Japan was as part of the “RHYTHM NATION TOUR,” but due to their tremendous popularity in Japan, they made a second visit in 1990 as well. First, let's look back at both of them and check the show's position.・May 17th: Tokyo Dome ・May 18th: Tokyo Dome ←★This work★ ・May 20th + 21st: Osaka Castle Hall (2 performances) ・May 23rd: Yokohama Arena - Six months later - 11 November 3rd + 4th: Osaka Castle Hall (2 performances), November 6th + 7th: Tokyo Dome (2 performances), November 14th + 15th: Nagoya Rainbow Hall (2 performances), November 16th: Yokohama Arena This is a total of 12 performances of “RHYTHM NATION JAPAN TOUR” which will be held twice. There were 4 Tokyo Dome performances in total, and this work is the 2nd performance of them. This show is also famous for being broadcast on TV, and its pro shots have become a staple for many years. This work is the highest version of such famous TV broadcast pro shots. In fact, the quality is shocking. It's an air check from that time, just like before, but I've never seen the image quality this high. I understand that there are no dubbing marks because it was digitized directly from the original master, but that alone doesn't explain it. Although the analog feel of the broadcast can't be helped, the colors are as beautiful as if it had been broadcast yesterday, and the metallic luster of the drum kit floating in the lighting was dazzling. Of course, the vividness is not digitally processed, so the colors are completely natural, and even every single strand of Janet's hair and every wrinkle in her costume is super clear. There is no running wobble or even the slightest tracking noise, which should be the fate of videos, and the visual beauty is such that you wonder, "Was it released on laser disc at the time?" Of course, the person who recorded this work was a hardcore recording enthusiast. This person makes full use of the high-end equipment of the era, and is also a careful craftsman in managing reception conditions and masters. The master of this work has probably never played it, and the visuals are beautiful, and both the video and the audio jump over 30 years of space and time. What is depicted with such ultimate freshness and visual beauty is a show at the height of the immense popularity of the Japanese people. It was a terrestrial broadcast that included commercials, but it was almost a full show for about 76 minutes. Let's organize the set here. Control (6 songs)・Control/Nasty/What Have You Done For Me Lately/Let's Wait Awhile/When I Think Of You/The Pleasure Principle Rhythm Nation 1814 (8 songs)・State Of The World (★)/The Knowledge (★)/Black Cat/Come Back To Me/Alright/Escapade/Miss You Much/Rhythm Nation *Note: Songs marked with a ★ cannot be seen in the official videos ``THE VELVET ROPE TOUR'' and ``LIVE IN HAWAII.'' ...and it looks like this. At that time, it was about 8 months after the release of "Rhythm Nation 1814" and it was in the midst of a record-breaking hit, and the set was a concentrated version of the big hit songs of "Control" and "Rhythm Nation 1814." You can also enjoy repertoire unique to that time, such as “State Of The World” and “The Knowledge”, which were sealed for 27 years after that. Even more than that, what gives us a strong sense of the times is the scenery that runs through this work. The program begins with the Tokyo Dome...or rather, the "Big Egg" before the show starts, and the young people coming and going are all in a bubble. The women, with their bangs curled just like in a trending drama, are all equipped with sturdy shoulder pads, and the men are also inspired to say, "Are you Mitsugu-kun?" from a Tokyo love story. The children of the era are lined up, including Keep-kun. As you enter the venue, you can catch a glimpse of the celebrities, and the one who took the world by storm with his ``Mini Octopus'' look is extremely slim and cool. Furthermore, even a girl in the front row, Ms. A, whose tears aren't just decorations, looks like she's having fun... And the person who makes us feel ``1990'' more than anyone else is Janet herself. She appears in a slim silhouette, and the dance that begins with "Control" is so sharp and amazing. When I think about it, my older brother Michael was 29 years old when he came to Japan on the “BAD WORLD TOUR”, but Janet in this work had just turned 24 (her birthday was two days before this work). Not only the speed of his movements and the sharpness of his stops, but even when he is standing still, he has a sharp extension of his fingers pointing into the void, and even a slight tilt of his head creates a picture. You can fully enjoy the show where she dances and sings while her black skin shines with sweat. 24-year-old Janet Jackson has made a spectacular breakthrough and left her mark on the archipelago. This is a visual masterpiece that depicts her irresistible charm with the most gorgeous visual beauty ever. The passion of core enthusiasts allows them to preserve scenes from 30 years ago so beautifully...this is a piece that leaves you in awe of that fact.
