James Cotton first emerged as a harmonica player in Muddy Waters' band, then went solo and signed with Alligator Records in the '80s. His second live album, "Live From Chicago," was nominated for a Grammy Award. This is a soundboard recording of his performance in Shibuya on December 16, 1985. The live performance in his hometown of Chicago was recorded in 1986, and although it was a long time ago, it features Cotton blowing his harmonica freely and singing passionately in a funky band consisting of guitar, bass, drums, piano, trombone, tenor sax and trumpet.
