J. GEILS BAND broke through the invisible ceiling in 1979 with the smash hit single "One Last Kiss," but had yet to make the shift toward pop. Introducing the super best set that will replace the official one. This work is a luxurious set of the best professional shots and soundboard. The TV program “ROCKPALAST” filmed on “April 21 + 22, 1979 Essen” is on disc 1, and the famous KRO radio program “ROCKTEMPEL” recorded three days later on “April 24 Amsterdam” on disc 2. This is a 2-disc set. Both are definitive editions that are set with the best quality of the classics that are familiar to enthusiasts. Before quality, first of all is the position of the show. Let’s look back at the overall picture of “SANCTUARY TOUR”. 1978 [November "SANCTUARY" released] November 23rd - December 31st: North America #1a (10 performances) 1979 January 10th - April 9th: North America #1b (40 performances) - 4 March 21st - May 3rd: Europe (5 performances) ←★Here★ June 10th - July 4th: North America #2 (8 performances) December 15th + 16th: Detroit (2 performances) This is it J. GEILS BAND in 1978/1979. Although it was mostly limited to North America, a showcase-like European mini-tour was also held in between. In fact, they hadn't played a show in Europe since around 1972, and it was also a stepping stone to conquering Europe for the first time in several years. And what is included in this work is the concert corresponding to the first three performances. You can enjoy such a moment with the best multi-camera, professional shot & stereo sound board, and the quality is also excellent. First, a pro shot of “ROCKPALAST” on disk 1. Although it is an analog air check master, its freshness is wonderful. I'm not sure whether to call it ``official grade'' by the modern standards of the digital era, but by the standards of the time, I can definitely say. The image is extremely stable with no visible dubbing marks or deterioration over time, and the image is beautiful with no noise or distortion. Peter Wolfe barking in all black, Magic Dick wearing leather all over his body and blowing vigorously, and J. Giles strumming his shiny Flying V... Their frighteningly cool appearances are brought back to life just as they were back in the day. And the stereo soundboard recording disc 2 is also wonderful. This is a new excavation master that was recently released by a maniac, and it was digitized directly from the Air Check Master itself. The freshness is tremendous, and the fresh sound is like receiving the radio waves of the time directly. As a matter of fact, the program mix itself is rough and there is a momentary howling, but the sound itself is truly official quality. Danny Crane's groove and Stephen Blood's vividly separated drumming also transcend the "ROCKPALAST" pro shot on Disc 1. What's so cool about such a passionate performance depicted with the best professional shots and sound board! The two shows are not only separate performances, but also have different sets, so let's break them down here. Common songs for DVD/CD・THE MORNING AFTER: Whammer Jammer・BLOODSHOT: Give It To Me/(Ain't Nothin' But a) House Party・SANCTUARY: I Could Hurt You/Sanctuary/One Last Kiss/Teresa Disc 1 only song (ROCKPALAST DVD)・THE J. GEILS BAND: Pack Fair And Square/First I Look At The Purse・THE MORNING AFTER: Looking For A Love・NIGHTMARES...AND OTHER TALES: Nightmares・SANCTUARY: Just Can't Stop Me/Wild Man・Others: Where Did Our Love Go Disc 2 only songs (ROCKTEMPEL CD)・THE J. GEILS BAND: Serves You Right To Suffer・THE MORNING AFTER: Floyd's Hotel・NIGHTMARES...AND OTHER TALES: Detroit Breakdown...and it looks like this. “ROCKPALAST Pro Shot (DISC 1)” is approximately 67 minutes, and “ROCKTEMPEL Sound Board (DISC 2)” is approximately 56 minutes, which are different broadcast times, and although Disc 1 has a higher number of songs and volume. However, it's not just the size of the song, there are plenty of songs that don't overlap, and you can enjoy a total of 17 songs and 22 takes in the two types. With the dawn of the 80's, J. GEILS BAND entered an era of pop and rapid growth. 1979 was just before that, but it was a moment when they were releasing R&B-tinged rock'n'roll that was full of their original wildness. A definitive 2-disc set where you can enjoy them with the highest quality professional shots and soundboard album.
