Introducing a masterpiece that captures a special night in the history of IRON MAIDEN's visit to Japan with the best master who appears for the first time! The stage for that “special night” was the Budokan. Yes, this work is a live album that records “May 13, 1987” when they first stood on the Budokan stage. IRON MAIDEN has the image of being on par with JUDAS PRIEST, but unlike PRIEST, they have a distant connection to Budokan. From their first visit to Japan in 1981 to the present, they have toured Japan 13 times in 35 years and performed 71 performances (excluding 2011 after the Great East Japan Earthquake), but they have only performed at Budokan twice. Only in 1987 and 2006. So, it's not as if they don't have any attachment to Budokan. In this work, after "Stranger In The Strange Land," Bruce Dickinson expresses his gratitude for the honor of being able to perform at a traditional venue, but backstage in 2006, Adrian Smith keeps asking about the history of Budokan. When he came to Japan this year, Steve Harris himself asked, ``Wasn't Budokan empty?'' Even though they only played twice, the idea that "Japan = Budokan" is deeply rooted in their hearts. This work includes IRON MAIDEN's first Budokan performance. It was the night that etched the octagonal space into their hearts. This work, which contains such a monumental live, is a direct CD version of the first appearance master cassette that breathed the air of Budokan directly. Avid enthusiasts may remember “BEYOND TIME TO GO”, but it is a completely different recording from that. The recording artist who recorded this work is one of Japan's greatest masters. He has produced masterpieces from all kinds of artists, but the ones that have a particularly strong image for metal fans are DIO's only Budokan performance ``DRAGON HEAD'' and WHITESNAKE's breakup performance ``FINAL JUDGEMENT.'' Both are super masterpieces that have received enthusiastic support for their extremely clear sound, while giving you plenty of the unique Budokan atmosphere. It's the work of the same recording artist who made those masterpieces! The sound is exactly the mirror of an audience recording. The freshness of using the original cassette directly is as if 29 years have not passed, the core of the thick musical tone roars, the outline of each instrument is beautiful, and it stretches straight through the octagonal space. Its direct feeling and beauty easily surpass "BEYOND TIME TO GO"...or should I say, there is no comparison at all. Please don't think to yourself, ``There's no point in having anything better than a crappy title.'' “BEYOND TIME TO GO” is not a recording from that area, but a famous recording that has been hailed as “the best Japanese performance of 1987” by enthusiasts around the world. This year's Japan tour was a total of 7 performances, but it was the pinnacle. In other words, this work is one that has suddenly (far!) jumped over a peak that has not been surpassed for 29 years. In fact, the sound is downright beautiful. Geometric drumming and gallop bass form the framework of the song, and twin guitars cut into it sharply and beautifully. Bruce Dickinson sings freely about this world... Each instrument does not mix together, creating a true IRON MAIDEN ensemble. Every single note is vivid and recent. It seems that even the grains of the glossy sound of the synthesized guitar stand out. The only and biggest drawback of this recording is that there is a tape change cut for about 9 seconds in the middle of the masterpiece "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner". That part was connected with the recording of "BEYOND TIME TO GO" which has a sense of distance, but fortunately (?) that part is the part where the mood is created with the narration and the bass arpeggio. Since this part did not require a direct feel of the musical sound, we were able to create a finish that allows you to enjoy the entire show with minimal discomfort. The world of “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR 1987” drawn with such quality is exquisite. “Caught Somewhere In Time”, which can only be heard on this tour (they didn’t play it on the reprint tour), makes me feel dizzy. At the time, ``SOMEWHERE IN TIME'' was divided into pros and cons, with people wondering about the synthesized guitar, but the richness of the songs and the density of famous songs are among the best of all the albums. "Stranger In The Strange Land," "Wasted Years," and "Heaven Can Wait," Adrian and Harris' brilliantly colored masterpieces, are played out one after another, as well as the guitar solo number "Walking On Glass," which features twin harmonies. Unique to this tour.
